One of several players that has the potential to turn '18 from a good year into a very good year.

Darcy as a young'en showed potential until his ill advised sojourn into the depths of the sewer that is Parramatta. Came back to the light .. but took time to shrug off the Parra sludge and struggled to regain form early in '16.

Mid way through the season (coinciding with personal lose) he hit career best form and was well on the way to forming one of the most lethal front row partnerships in the NRL with Kapow. Sadly, injury struck at the worst time and we lost him for the last 4 games of the year when we were fighting for a top 8 spot.

Had a poor '17 pre-season, and again injured his arm before the start to the season delaying his return until rd 6. Unfortunately his return was cut short after only 2 wks and he was again out injured for ten weeks until rd 17.

By this time you have a very frustrated and desperate young man, eager (maybe too eager) to get on the park and make a difference. He flew into the games like a young bull .. all piisss and vinegar, and whilst keen enough, he failed to have the impact he desired.

I think Darcy would be well aware that his career has not risen the the levels forecast, and that "18 will be a career defining year for him.

I believe that a good off season and the right mental attitude could well see Darcy become the man we have all hoped he would become .... and again build a lethal partnership with Kapow.

Darcy had no competition and got lazy in discipline :banghead:

If Manly sign a couple of big guys, Darcy may lift his relaxed attitude

He is running out if options and could end up as another who wasted his talent 😕

Good thread, he has it in him, he needs to produce more weeks than not. If he can lift his poor games to a higher standard and have just a few more great games I'd be happy. If Tapow is consistently running 180-200m he should run off the back of that.

I was told he asked for a release back end of the season to look for another club as he was unhappy that he wasn't starting. His attitude has meant to of changed when finally got the starting spot very late end of season.
I think this was why it was rumored he was being shopped around.
I'm sorry Lussick, but you don't just ask for a starting position at manly, you have to earn it

As always, 100% spot on mate. I have no idea why we differed so much previously. Such a breath of fresh air to read positive, inspiring posts like these. Thanks mate, you're a champion.

Absolutely adore Darcy Lussick.

I think at 28, turning 29 in June next year, his time to reach his potential is just about finished.
Darcy doesn't have the talent of a T-Rex or Coal train; those that had potential - got somewhere - then wasted it.

He has size and aggression, but limits their use by turning off or turning into a penalty.

Appreciate that props are like wine (until they are Mr Plods), but I'd say Darcy will struggle to regain 2016.

Would love if he proved me wrong though!

Very average player with a well below average intelligence!

Most of the time more of a liability on the field than anything else....................a silly penalty or dropped ball just waiting to happen.

No offense mate, but do you actually like our club? Just seems you want to rip the team and players every chance you get?

Haha love the club.............and have loved it longer than most on here given how old I am!!
I just think on our OWN forum we should be able to honest about the team rather than just toe the line that all is rosy.....

And ofcourse I do have some pet topics:

Scott Penn
Our recruitment policy/team
Green
Lussick
Kelly

😉:clap::h:

And a big fan of a number of our players..................Jake, DCE, Api, Dylan Walker, AFB & Akula

I like the guys who look like they give a sh*t and turn up to play every week..................

Lussick showed what he is capable of in 2016, and again at the back end of last season, and there was a common denominator in that form, he was starting

Starting is easily his best position and where he should be, his aggression with and without the ball when controlled right in conjunction with Taupau and Jake makes it extremely hard for the opposition, best example being that ambush we put on Penrith that they never recovered from

Why does this post suddenly remind me of an Alanis Morriset song?
