Wooden Spoon

Have a look at our run home after from here..... bye then Tigers and Rabbits. Then the next bye and look out.....Storm, Bulldogs, Roosters, Raiders, Tigers, Dolphins, Dragons and Warriors. Based on the last few weeks performances, can u see any wins???
I'm just hoping for four points out of that lot

Who cares? 12th, 15th or last all fails.

And if we deserve it, so be it.

It might be what's needed to get changes.
That’s why I took Chunky Ts advice and threw $10 on it, at least that way if we do run last I’ll be a $1500 better off! I’m in no way cheering for it, but it would certainly soften the blow slightly if we do run last.

Hopefully Ola will be back by the Storm game. The 4 games after the 2nd bye will be telling, I can see us picking up more injuries and a half fit Lodge is now looking more like a possible messiah now.

If Haumoles gone, we might get a win or two.

A mate had a bigger bet at $66 at the start of the season.

We agreed the rostered was hopeless and doubted this coach could do anything with a such a poor list.

Way too much cash invested in overhyped backs. Need to find some gritty metre eating forwards and a crafty hooker ASAP. The money ball strategy doesn’t work and seibs is a soft as baby s##t … get Brad Arthur stat and put some starch back into our DNA

I hope people are ready for us to break a 78 year drought because it’s looking like a genuine possibility now.

Losses to the bottom 3 teams in the Titans, Knights and Eels in the last four weeks, and only 2 points clear of last place now.

Lost our best player for potentially the year in Haumole and our club captain has been checked out since round 4.

Seibold will have quite the legacy if this was to happen after already getting the Broncos their first and only spoon.
I think its a formality, with the Bears and more teams growing. Manly used to be able to use the lifestyle as a selling point, but any team can do that these days. A few of the Bulldogs players are seen around the Sutherland Shire a lot, so the location of the club means very little. Its the dollars that counts.

It's the complete lack of fight that terrifies me. They show up and, for some reason, expect a win. And as soon as it becomes clear that they will have to work for it, they give up. For all the speed, for all the "weapons" we supposedly have out there, they are really, really bad at playing rugby league.
Mate, I said the exact same thing a few weeks ago and copped the usual pile on from the usual suspects. We rely on teams not turning up for a fight. If they do, we usually capitulate.

Not sure how Manly will be able to get out of this dreadful rut they are in. In a sense it shows how much they relied on DCE to win them games. He goes off the boil and the side has no options. A number of good players in the side, but without someone to create the chances, they seem to bumble long waiting for someone to do something. I think they'll avoid the spoon, but cant see them now making the 8. The side needs some serious fresh blood, not only on the field.

Only chance is if we get a new owner.

I think he missed the boat on getting a good offer.
Wasn't he offered decent coin when we were a top 8 side regularly, the way we have been the last 5 years the value would be half of that.
Teams that finish in the top 4 constantly bring in lots of sponsorship dollars increasing the their value.

"Off the boil" is putting it a little too kindly. He is the captain of our club and he seems completely disinterested in doing anything that might help the side to win. He is dragging down everyone around him and seems determined to get Seibold sacked before he himself moves on. It's a total sh#t show, and he is at the very heart of it.

Once he made his "I'm not retiring and I'll be playing anywhere but Manly next year" announcement, I was happy enough for him to stay and guide the team. He said he was going to put in for the rest of the year and I believed him. Even if he didn't have any love for the club and the players, I figured he was at least professional enough to show some pride in his own performances - and from time to time, he has. But as it stands, the situation is completely untenable. And like you, I have no idea how they're going to get out of it.

I think DCE thought his TV announcement would result in multiple suitors throwing huge offers at him but it backfired on him when Galvin became the flavour of the month.

Losing his SOO spot (& captaincy along with it) surely was the final nail in the coffin of his contract potential?

Now he’s playing like a sulky kid.

Really professional from the guy who seemed to pride himself on his professionalism all these years.
