World Cup Live Games Super Thread

Samoa's showing was a big shock, pretty sure they were favourites.
I suspect for all the players who've been getting smashed up in NRL all year, driving themseves on for another month or whatever might be difficult, however much they want to.
Not to mention Samoa's spine was poor. Levi and Milford played to their NRL standard, nuff said. Luai didn't play well and Sualii for all his potential couldn't do much except for one big break. England looked very good.

Rugby League great Corey Parker has brutally suggested that Kangaroos halfback Daly Cherry-Evans has played his last game at the Rugby League World Cup after a "mixed bag" for Australia against Fiji.

I’ll wait till Cleary has a crack against Scotland first. But it didn’t look good.

Corey Parker a "rugby league great"? - please!

And a harsh assessment of DCE...he had his moments but he wasn't terrible, and certainly not bad enough to warrant it being his last game, pfft.

after 400 sets in the Lebanon 10 mtr zone, NZ score. 12-6

Not sure about the Lebanon short kick offs as a strategy

DCE had at least two try assists last night. Not sure how that counts as never to play again....
And if Munster takes his kick that's three.
20 tackles and 0 missed despite Kikau running at him all night.
Yes it was a low key game from him but not all terrible.

Only saw the last few minutes of the NZ/Lebanon game but saw Abbas Miski and James Roumanos took the field for Lebanon. Anyone see how they went? Always liked Miski and hoped the move to the UK would do him good.

Lebanon's great white hope from the West Tigers Adam Doueihi became the first player in this World Cup to be sent off. Grant Atkins marched him for dissent in the 59th minute.

Abbas Miski scored a try in the 45th minute.

Powerful forward pack for Tonga - be interesting to see how Olakau'atu performs as lock

Despite some countries having impressive line ups, Australia & NZ have the much superior spines (IMO) - Tedesco, Munster, Cleary, Grant & Manu, Brown, Hughes, Smith.

For this reason, these two teams will probably contest the final.

Edit: just learnt that Australia & NZ are drawn to meet in the semis & thus, can't meet in the final.
