Young Forwards - Do we have any?

A team needs a mix of old and new. A few years back we had younger middles like Keppie and Jake lacked that dominant alpha to show the way. Now we have the experience but outside of bull who are they shaping. But you need both.

We still look very thin next year as of now. Depth will be tested. There are 8 spots to fill next year. Bully, Talau, Faulalo, and Sio probably take 4 of those spots. Not to mention I have included Bryan, Pua'avase, Laiafai, Willett, Large, Zaidas and Walsh in the 30. Navale, Cannavo and Lavakeiaho contracted for 26 outside that may come in. We look extremely thin. We need to sign a proven first grader or two.

Still young. But Hugo Harts one I'd be comfortable blooding early. After 30 June club can play anyone can't they? We should see more blooded back end especially if or when a finals spot is over.

Navale hasn't played enough top grade this year for mine.
Big call, just curious why you think this? Do you rate him that highly or just the lack of back row depth?

To be fair they didn’t exactly set the world on fire on Friday night.

At the money offered for them I’m not sure that was a bad move.

But I agree with the aging plodders , we don’t need to continue with that path.
Wasn’t that at the same time they were forced to upgrade schuster contract and they couldn’t afford to keep them in the money they were on?

I rate him.. It's probably a bit to do with the type of back rower he is as well, and yeah it's our weakness position for sure.

He's not really ready for A grade just yet. But I absolutely think he's will play A grade.

Im a little frustrated Navale hasn't seenore minutes he's knocked the door down the most in ressies.

But Harts someone I think could be worth while blooding before he's ready if our seasons done.It wouldnt be huge minutes. Give him a taste of the next level and see how much more work is needed in the off season.

In 12 months time I'd like to think he could indeed be ready.

One young guy quietly making some noise is prop Miles Edler.
Came from Bears last year as a bit of a depth signing for Flegg and has outshone and pretty much become the most consistent and first prop picked for Flegg this year.(Picked over Laiafi as a starter)
He had a bit of an injury earlier but has been getting picked on the bench a few times lately in Reggie's.

Paul Bryan
Phillip Lavakeiaho ... 18?
Innocent Baruani .. maybe 17 years old?
Will Cannavo from Knights

Suddenly seem to be stacked with young forwards of promise, after a season or two of being a bit of a dad's army.
And we still have Navale and a couple of other decent young forward prospects. Could Manly be about to transition from oldest to one of the youngest sides in the comp?

Depends if they kick on or not i suppose. No guarantee these kids push through to NRL. Hopefully they do but who knows

Please Manly mgt, bring some young forwards thru.

Please Spoonbold - play Navale now. I realise u can't coach young players - let someone else do it.

Do we have any coaches that are inspiring? I've said it before we have the coach that most resembles a sloth or the McDonald grimace character in the comp that's hardly inspiring (In fact if I found out they where his parents I'd not be surprised).

It is incredibly frustrating watching other teams like the Roosters, Rabbits, Dragons and alike getting lots of injuries and they bring in young players.
You can see towards the back end of the season that this policy is paying dividends.

Manly has injuries in the forwards and we replace them with journeyman after journeyman.
Young players like Navale are just ignored week after week. Drives me crazy.

How is this helping Manly set themselves up for the future.

Seriously, Seibold and his short term money ball signings are killing this club.

Does Manly have any young gun forwards coming through our pathways?
