Game Day: Manly v Raiders [Round 8, 2017]

How many penalties can they give them!?!?!?!

Short side attack on the 5th

Why do both our halves persist with attacking the short side on the last tackle? Has this even worked once this year?

    Totally lost

I'd agree with you that many coaches have done it and/or continue to do it. I'd also argue that it is a waste. Drop Brown for Hastings and we still have plenty of coverage across the park. Brown literally offers nothing that Hastings and Sironen don't already.

    Parcell vs Api vs Hastings

I'd argue its not his job to go for the big hit. Bigger is not always better haha. I'll take Jakes sound tackling any day over the hit or miss big hits of Kapow every day of the week!

    Parcell vs Api vs Hastings

I will agree with him going for the big hit too much. He needs to cut that out of the game. A hooker isn't there for the big hit, he is there for the safe sound tackle. At least that is my opinion. Can really comment on the second point you raise as I haven't noticed that to be honest. Assuming...

    Parcell vs Api vs Hastings

Yes, it is just my opinion and I accept that you have yours. However; I don't believe that the calls are simply coming from a select few fans. Watch the telecast of last few weeks game. The commentary teams make mention of the poor service on dozens of occasions. NRL players are also speaking...

    Parcell vs Api vs Hastings

Yeah that is true, but hey its a bit of fun on a Friday afternoon haha! The two issues I have with Api is his missed tackle count and his service. If he can tighten both these areas up then I would be happy for him to stay there.

    Parcell vs Api vs Hastings

If Api is even close to SOO selection then the game has truly gone to ****. I'm sorry @Turbo1 you will never convince me that Api is a good hooker. The knock on him is not unjustified. Yes, he has a good work ethic and makes a lot of tackles. He also misses an unreasonable amount too. He service...

    Parcell vs Api vs Hastings

Sorry but Superleague is in no way worse than QLD Cup. It is a lessor comp than NRL yes, but I would argue that it is the second best comp in the world. As for Api being a better option an Parcell, whilst it is now completely irrelevant, Parcell was a better option. He was good enough. I...

    Signing Predictions

Yeah I really like the combo of Graham and Scott to help add some toughness to our pack (physically but more importantly, mentally). Just thinking though, with the likes of Taupau, Lussick and AFB we may have a little too much agro though.

I'm ready to walk away from the game

Honestly, these players are paid a very good sum to play a sport that they love. If that means that the public knows how much they are on then so be it. It doesn't take too much effort to know how much the CEO of many companies out there earn. I know we are talking about different sums of money...

    Parcell vs Api vs Hastings

Not trying to stir up any trouble, just good to see Parcell doing so well. Matt Parcell - Leeds Rhinos Tries - 7 (0.63 per game) Try Assists - 7 (0.63 per game) Tackles - 409* (37.18 per game) Missed Tackles - 20 (1.81 per game) Tackle Breaks - 23 (2.09 per game) Carries - 97 (8.81 per game)...

I'm ready to walk away from the game

Don't care about individual salaries as it is too convoluted with cap figures and TPAs etc. Just tell us what the CLUBs total expenditure on player salaries currently is. No issues there, simply business reporting its expenditure on a particular aspect of its operations. Also, why not simply...

    Signing Predictions

David Fifita is off contract with Wakefield in the UK. Still only 27 years old and a 120kg prop.

I'm ready to walk away from the game

I understand what you're saying but the fact that we cannot definitively say how much cap space the team has is a travesty. Can someone please give me a good reason why the NRL cannot make a teams cap space figure public? The obvious one is that the NRL simply has no idea what each teams cap...

I'm ready to walk away from the game

The issue with the increase is that is looks like it wont be as much as expected. This could spell bad news for the club if they have overreached. I seriously doubt that is the case as it's my understanding that our biggest contract (DCE's) is a percentage of the cap rather than a set figure so...

I'm ready to walk away from the game

I hope you are right as I think Graham would be a great pickup for our young forward pack. He is that hard nosed forward that would add a real edge to the team. I understand that is their salaries, what I am suggesting is that as they were off contract next year the team may have already...

I'm ready to walk away from the game

The dogs wont get rid of anyone. They might cut Graham but that is doubtful. Plenty of brown paper bags in that way. Parra I will agree with. There recruitment into the best. I'd take Gutho over Moses any day of the week. Moses is a flea and every time he gets hit I wonder if he will get back...

Manly v Raiders Round 8 (Pre-Game Day Discussion)

I honestly didn't want Green to be signed in the first place. I'd be happy to drop Green entirely due to his piss poor defensive effort. The issue is that I don't think Api is cutting it with his service. If I had faith in Cullen to be a solid halves partner to DCE I'd suggest drop Green...

Honeymoon over for two Manly greats

I was referring to their injuries ending their careers before they were ready to hang up the boots.
