Game Day: Manly v Eels [Round 18, 2019]

Nah mate, we disagree ‘cause we think it was a good win. Sure Dessie has a few things to tighten up for next week, but your points are a little OTT... and don’t worry, i’m watching my footy right ;)

A Great Sign - Young Guys Holding Their Own

It really puts the average coaching of Barrett in the spotlight. Only fringe players added and a completely different result through attitude. Not chance he’ll be getting another gig in AU.

    Green VS Hodko

One big bonus I see from Hodko is his personality off the field. It is well documented what a class individual he is and in a very young team, I believe he could play a Ben Kennedy style mentor role off the field and help rebuilt a modern Manly culture. Skills wise he is equal, if not slightly...

    30 June Deadline

I think Baz mentioned recently he wasn't rushing in to pick up also rans.... not a lot of quality available for pick up.

Cronulla Sharks Lyall Gorman a target for Manly Sea Eagles CEO role

I was thinking the same thing SER8. Toxic env is situation normal at Manly.... and for some reason it doesn't seem to be too much of a problem. It might help galvanise the team. Maybe part of Bozo's crazy master plan. That why he has so many family member in the place. Keep the toxicity up to...

Jackson hastings - snubbed for cullen

Not to hijack the thread, but what were his reasons? I didn't get to see Baz on Sterlo. I was in the Jake for captain corner, but with what DCE has been doing this year, I am super happy with him as captain.

Tom Trbojevic destined to be one of the greats

Time will tell. Out of everyone available to us now, he is certainly in my top 13 and he is better than all of the Wrights put together. Api was probably completely buggered when he went off, but he was playing like a mad man. I'm happy for him to stay at 9 for 80 mins and give some of the...

    Attn Trent Barrett

What about Lawrence to 2nd row when Perrett and Lussick are back? He seems that have good fitness, so should be good for decent minutes, and his speed into edge holes could be interesting. Lawrence and Winterstein could be the 2 biggest 2nd rowers in the comp if we played with them.

Tom Trbojevic destined to be one of the greats

Wasn't it Jack Gibson (or some other similar super coach) that said pick your best 13 and work it out from there. On that basis Hastings makes the team. He could end up bringing Walker and Kelly into the game some more as he will be a more running, ball player fullback. Having Hasting on the...

    Depth x 4

I think we have more options than most commentators give us credit for, but I would be interested in seeing Winterstein in centres. He is defending close by, so should have the D covered required for a centre and has speed and attacking skills that I think could cover. If Parker is not injured...

    Tevita Funa

Very much agree. I think Barrett will be has been and will continue to be brilliant for juniors and development in general. He really seems to have a rapport with the team across the board and I think will be considered a great developer of Manly talent in the future. Either that or this post...

Is that time of year yet?

Not sure Leilula is up to it mentally... his game against Manly with the pressure wasn't great. There have been a few more like that I've seen lately. Can't stomach Dugan but he will almost certainly get a start considering he is playing for Australia (somehow). You'd have to think Walker on...

    Jackson Hastings

I think you have your 7 and 9 mixed up there mate ;) Having said that, I do think DCE is the better defender out of the 2 from what I've seen....

Your club’s 2018 recruitment and retention road map

It would be Hasting to get first crack at covering fullback right now I would say.

    Jackson Hastings

Yes, he was Barrett's neighbour or something wasn't he? So let's hope that relationship with the potential to partner Cherry after Green moved on will keep him with the mighty Sea Eagles. Being the young age he is, if we kept him at Manly for life he would be the elder stateman to take over once...

    S.O.O & our team?

Is Parker injured? I think I'd have him over Wright. This is where the young up and comers get a chance to shine... a potentially against slightly weaker oppositions.

    S.O.O & our team?

In my head it's any of our boys ever.... certainly while we insist on stopping our regular season for rep games. Too much chance of injury risk to what is panning out to be an enjoyable season for the mighty sea eagles.

    Cronk to manly rumour

Green doesn't have much more than another season or 2 at Manly, so there is not much difference (except the coin of course). I hate the Storm as much as the next Manly fan (my 6 yo son even replies very quickly with 'the Storm' to the question, "Which team do we hate the most") but I'd love to...
