That was such a beautiful thing to see again. I miss every one of those guys (even the way Watmough used to drive me nuts)!

Harry, Wolfman virtually came from nowhere in 08.
We got him as a bit of a low key signing from the slime.
He had been a star Eels junior who broke down all the time with injury, so never got anywhere and wasn't rated at the time we signed him as a 21 year-old. With Manly he stayed fit long enough to not only make first grade but also to show real quality and win top rep honours.
A one-club Manly Sea Eagle - and a great character!

Yeah great memories. Watched most of the day, some great teams. For all the doom and gloom our club has a amazing winning culture.
The attitude to defence take note our current squad - kingy, matai, choc, gifty.
There was nothing flash in attack, but everyone did there job. And the no names in even 07 team that lost willow, robbo, hicks shows to me again the current team is hugely underperforming.

Three things stood out to me and clearly outlines our current weaknesses.

Attack with defence. Attitude and spirit

The great crisp service from dummy half by Ballin.Balls hitting chests, taking the right options.

The play by two small confident wingers. Great under high ball , finish perfectly , trust their inside men in defence. The difference between the three stooges stuff we have had for a few years is stark.

The 40 Nil is dedicated to this Great man for making it all possible !!!

Would like to see some player stats from that game. Brent Kite belted them in every run, plus a try and the line break assist from the kickoff after Wolfman's try. Thoroughly deserving winner of the Churchill Medal.

Don't know where to post this but anyway...

I don't feel sorry for ben Hunt or the Broncos, but watching the end of the 2015 grand final I think they were dudded by the referees at the scrum. Thurston kicked the winning field goal a few tackles after the scrum. But he actually set up to kick the field goal from the scrum. To set it up he had 3 Cowboys backs standing as blockers all in a line level with the back of the scrum. But under the rules of the game all players have to 10m back from the scrum except the halfback who fed the scrum and i think the 5/8th. Broncos should have got a penalty.

Watch in this at 9mins 15 secs.

God I haven’t watched the full game in years and I’m fckin emotional all over again. Still sad but happy. Was truly one of the best days of my life. My wife just said she remembers me running up and down the stairs shouting go manly haha.
I'm the same. I watch those old games.with mixed emotions. So happy at the result, but so disappointed with what has become of our club.

It's to the point, whereby it seems like an actual different team / club all together.

Those Manly teams of yesteryear wouldn't tolerate the attitudes, culture , lack of accountability, poor attitudes of this group (owner, through to cleaners of the change rooms.)

I love watching sides attack with defence ..... and we used to do it so well.
