What they’re meant to do is either contest the bomb, or wait until they hit the ground then try and hold them up.
Why shouldn’t a perfect bomb be rewarded with a penalty try, if the catcher is taken illegally?

Sloan was contesting the bomb and then was coming back down to ground.
He couldn't suddenly turn limp or liquid or vanish.
The problem is the NRL rule makers made any semblance of a tackle in the air illegal.
But there was no need for this as the rules had always said a dangerous tackle is a penalty.
And there was nothing dangerous about what Sloan did yesterday.
The NRL pursues black and white rules becuase it can't handle a referee using their own judgement.

At this point that would be the Roosters, who somehow with half a dozen Origin players, still aren't in the Top 8.

Obviously Rednuts and Sharpe etc are low level but them alleged high level gimps Klein/Sutton etc are on $300k. Paid like professionals lift your bloody game to professional!
