At no point have you said that called Ezra a racial slur that has been accused has displayed unacceptable conduct (my apologies if you have - if so there is an element that Ezra can not let this define him but you are joking if you think people will "niggle" him as he might have an over reaction. Niggle is pretty different from racism no?)

As Peoples words do not define us
As you rightly say . People can be insensitive , People can be thoughtless but people can also be over sensitive

I always liked Martin Luther kings take. To paraphrase it goes along the lines that a persons race, sex or indenity classification should never overshadow a persons character. We should therefore judge each other by contents of our character. Your point about so called white and Mediterranean people deciding how people react etc is not that different in my mind to racism you are passionately advocating against… its just reversing it… whilst I don’t know you or could possibly speculate upon your race or any other trivial identity classification your point here does not appear to me to be well thought out….but we do live in a constitutional democracy so i guess each to thier own..

I would suggest though that different workplaces have different expectations on what's acceptable versus what's not. I mean, you couldn't even swear in my workplace, whereas back when I worked for a Bank, it was commonplace. Also, in Banking, ribbing was VERY much part of the culture. My current workplace, there would be a 0 tolerance approach.

Yeah it's a weird one, everyday at our work we all banter back and forward giving as good as we get. Some hilarious times are had. But we all socialise and enjoy life together outside of work too. Different out here in the bush. But I guess I'm getting off track as we are all mates and everything is taken in jest.
Whereas Mam and Leinu would hardly know each other.
