The Aloiai position is not complicated. If he is medically retired he can never play in the NRL again simple. It has been approved for many players including Dale Finucane (Sharks), Christian Welch (Melbourne), Justin Olam (Tigers), matt Gillett (Broncos), Sam Burgess (Souths) and so on. Once a player is medically unable to meet his contractual requirements due to career ending injury, regardless of whether it was a pre existing injury, and can never play in the NRL again its a no brainer. The nonsense that we have been spoon fed in the past and the poor decisions made previously by the NRL in respect of Matai and Stewart need to be a thing of the past. The NRL have a special talent for over complicating matters and doing nothing about other problems such as players being financially rewarded with coaching positions after they retire as an incentive to sign. How thats not a breach of the arms length third party rule I'll never know.
