Aloiai Gone

Still, they are the same type of person, and often the exact same person.
Inexcusable generalisation.
And frankly an appalling diversion of the Josh Aloiai thread.
As for the ethnic cleansing you refer to - I never heard of it.
If you think we should know about it/or think we shouldn't care about Palestine ... the General discussion thread is the place to make your points

I do not have the same respect for his backward beliefs in the above video or this one
Can't access the Insta one and only watched 1st five minutes of second one... which is enough to agree with you 100%
The club was at fault for not discussing the plan for the inclusivity jersey, knowing a lot of the players in the squad are from very different culture
But the culture he talks about is repressive and harmful. So long Josh, thanks for playing for Manly, but I can't wish you success as a preacher of discrimination

Didn’t like him when he joined and his lawn mower antics, didn’t like him when he was playing with his poor discipline and handling at crucial moments and I still don’t like him on the way out bringing religion into sports.

At the bottom of my Manly playlist with the likes of Myles, Field and Mullane.

Cya Oshay, thanks for your efforts. Seems the 'tolerant' leftists are more hatefult than Josh ever was. He wasn't hateful, just wouldn't stand for something that goes against his beliefs. Don't know if I'd have the balls to do the same if my employer put me in the same position, so respect for that.

I respect him as a player and appreciate what he sacrificed for the club.

Why are his beliefs backward? You have your beliefs, he has his & I have mine. End of story. You seem to dislike him, I don’t. Some say he was useless, I believe the opposite. No one is perfect. All I know is we missed his presence on the field this year big time! Good luck to the guy

I respect what he did on the field for the club - If you watch his views in both the videos posted and agree with them then you and I will have to agree to disagree

Without going back through the whole rainbow saga all I will say is check out what a Manly champion, Ian Roberts, thinks about views like his

Yep agree to disagree….it’s his right to believe & stand by those beliefs. Ian Roberts was & always will be a Manly great. What he believes is his business & his right! No one disputes that at all. If the boot was on the other foot would you call Roberts a great? You honestly think Aloiai is the only league player with those beliefs? I dare say many think his way, just as many think Robert’s way!! Life goes on mate & peoples beliefs will not change or matter!

BUT ... the big difference is .... Josh didn't try to force anybody to publicly wear a Christian jersey .. (against their wishes) ... supporting, or taking pride in his beliefs ... he simply had the courage to say no thanks.

I dislike him, but not because of his religious views or convictions. I don’t agree with them but also don’t care what he thinks. However, he was ill disciplined on the field and perpetually injured, which meant he cost more than he contributed. He comes across an arrogant tough guy without the runs on the board to support such a persona; for these reasons, I’m glad we have seen the back of him.

There is no point going over this again and again

We disagree on this topic...and that is okay for us to disagree on.
