How about the guys who played 3rd grade, sat on the bench for 2nd's and got some game time then sat on the bench for the 1st's.
I still remember a prop for Souths, I think his name was Hall, played full match in 2nd's then came after 1 minute to play a further 79 minutes in 1st's.

This week's team, on paper, looks strong. Let's see if the four Manly players can inspire a better performance than the normal Workers' fare.

Played a full u/23's then was on the bench for reggie's for 4 minutes before having to go on and play a full game ...

Pss .. but I was on the wing for both games so I guess that doesn't really count

Big money, getting paid for 2 games!

Did you get paid for both games? What did you get for a win back then?

Edit: I just read the answer

My best mate played U23s for Newtown and they were playing Manly at Brookvale in the early 80s and he was siting on the bench for reserve grade. Half of our reserve grade pack were internationals and it was a huge pack. Newtown were getting belted and going down like flies. Johnny tells the story of the trainer saying who wants to go on and their was silence on the bench. He reckons if they were standing in line they would have all stepped backwards at the same time.

yep happened every weekend and across all Grades and was exactyl the same in Bris. Back in the early 80's for Redcliffe I played a full game in Under 21's at 19, half game C Grade, half game Reserve Grade and almost a half in A Grade. Not sure anyone else in the Brisbane comp ever played in 4 grades but certainly at Redcliffe there would have been a few who probably played in 3 and a million who played in 2 on the same weekend. Redcliffe would have had 12 or so on the bench in C Grade in those days and it was nothing to see an International or State player running around in C Grade after coming back from injury and heaps of rep players in Reserve Grade because of "poor form". Sad how League has moved away from that model and where going to the footy was a good 4 or 5 hour event and players knew that there was talent right behind them ready to take their spot. But then again today's League is more like touch compared to those days.

Crikey!

I watched two games in a row once...

Bully not playing today .
Dragons have a number of well-known players so it's not going to be an easy match.
