Fro the problem is under labor you and I will never get a fair go and under liberal no one feels like the get a fair go.

It's funny how my political allignment changes with my salary

Hell yeah Dan, I hate the socialist/Labor ethos with a passion. Why should i bust my hump to get ahead when all that will ensue is that i'll be taxed out the khyber.

On the flipside though I have enough of a social conscience to realise that the libs are pretty much the rich getting richer.

There are a lot of people out there that need help, and i have no issue with contributing to that help. My issue is with those that dont deserve it but expect it as their "right".

Same with the climate issue, Aus is not even a drop in the bucket, and the unfairness of this is manisfest in the obvious vote grab that this compensation package is.

I'll bet lefty that the big pinch comes after the next election if Labor are lucky enough to get themselves elected again.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Politicians are pure scum, with very few exceptions.

And dont get me started on the state Govt. :)

My voting goes to the candidate i assume smarter

Tony Abbott got tonguelocked by an 8yr old girl about broadband

Gillard seemed to have brains, but i still think this tax is about her
own personal glory as opposed to the greater good

Either way, your stuck voting for a douche or a turd...

I couldn't bring myself to vote for a back stabbing red headed clown, and couldn't vote in the mad monk. I hate the greens so my choices were limited this tine around

Australia is right up the top of the heap for greenhouse gas emissions per capita.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_greenhouse_gas_emissions_per_capita

If you care to scroll down and check out some of the countries that do not share our power-extravagant lifestyle you might wonder what they think of countries like us, who are affecting their environment far more than they are affecting it themselves.

Is carbon tax a stunt? No, but it is also not the ultimate solution. As Daniel said, 'If you think the oil and mining industries wont have the final say, then you are just as crazy.'

If private profits can be made by screwing the environment, then that is exactly what will continue to happen. Don't forget the mega-rich are just trying to get ahead also.

Speaking of party politics, there's a saying in the States: "if you're a republican (right) at 20 you've got no heart; if you're a democrat (left) at 40 you've got no brains!"

Our biggest problem is ****wits in the seat which Brookvale oval is a part of is a liberal safe seat,if they came even close to losing an election perhaps they'd fix it

Just sayin

Due to the Liberal's trying to bring in Work Place Agreements will never vote for them and that's even if Labor has a cross between Polpot, Hitler, Gaddafi, Hussein or any other dictator in leadership

thats State Libs, and you are right about their work place agreements.

except they are already in place now, the industrial relations commision is now a waste of time, a month before one of the biggest pay cases in years was due to be heard.

Scum, pure and simple.

Workplace agreements really were no concern for my sector, we are already all on individual agreements even down to certain leave and other things. There is no real union for us either, really it's not bad at all and helps keep our salaries inflated, I can bargain my pay and therefore get a good deal.

They aren't for everyone and the libd had it badly wrong and tried it in the wrong climate.

They have no place in retail and entry level jobs but corporate Australia is already well an truly familiar with them.

The libs should have offered better protection for employees and they might have sold them. The problem was they needed something to take into an election but misjudged the climate. we needed a break from the libs they were getting cocky but no one could have guessed the sheer incompetence of labour and their ability to back stab the better of the two options

It astounds me how this red headed **** is still in politics after the education building rort she oversaw as education minster, billions of dollars if rotted profits went to dodgee builders who built sheds and 50 square buildings for 700k +. Then there's award modernization that is bring the food and hospitality industry to it's knees. Talk to franchise in the food business who are just trying to make a living and are working longer hours employing less people and only just keeping there head above water because of the **** and her power hungry government who a desperate to do what every it takes to stay in power. As NSW proved the labour party are nothing but bunch of corrupt bastards

Dan its not individual contract Ofarrel and his razor gang are up to.

they are cutting the guts out of the public service.

and yes I know all the stories about public servants yada yada, but some of the tricks they are pulling are indefensible, whoch I wont go into on an open forum.

Carbon Tax
This **** happend because the government realised they weren`t getting enough revenue from cigarettes anymore, so all you ppl who lobbied for no smoking & to ban it here is the result , they had to get their money from somewhere ..
Now i not only have to pay tax on cigarettes also but i also have to pay a carbon tax too because half the population who smoked have quit.
I wonder what idiotical **** this country is going to screw us with next oxygen tax anyone ???????????????

see now the ones who despised smoking have to pay, when before the smokers revenue covered it all..

jjai, are you for real mate. I would prefer a tax to breathing smoke everywhere I go.

How did your interview go btw?

Well Dan i dont like to be confident & say yeah i think i got it anymore ,but i thought it went ok .. it was my 1st one in 11yrs wasnt nervous which was good, the guy interviewing me was ok ..later on in the interview we started talking about his life journey instead of mine,, he came from california originally met an aussie girl & moved over here & married been here 9yrs lol..

Well now you have that Tax Dan lol ;)

That is usually a good sign. If the interview switches to stuff about the interviewer then you have struck up an accord with them. Good luck mate

I am probably one of the very few who thinks the Carbon tax is a move in the right direction. Love to know what Gronk thinks. The way it is structured I believe it will have bugger all impact on most and the supposedly huge losses in jobs is rubbish imo. There will be job transfers and like the introduction of technology it will be for the best.

I am with you on this one MB.

Come July 1 2012 the world will continue and this will have very little to no impact on most Australians.

I feel for the people who live in places like The Latrobe Valley, that now feel their jobs are at risk, and they may well be. But if a company is going to set up a new facility to replace the dirty brown coal plant I am sure it would only make sense to use these towns with the already skilled work force.

I live in a town of just under 4000 population and 15 years ago the government effectively closed the railway down here. We lost about 600 jobs. No one cried for our town and we still exist, in fact we have prospered in some respects.

The mining companies are using this to their own benefits and fear mongering. It's working too.

Mining is a big part of the Queensland economy and the coal mining expansion is still huge and on the agenda. The real reason for the slight down turn in mining is more about the drop in commodity prices than it is about the carbon tax
