They don’t have to be magical, they just need to be dependable…

we have the stars (could do with an upgrade to 9 tho imo), we just need workhorses that can keep their cool under duress and perform their role - no more, no less…
i.e. wingers that can catch a ball, can make 1on1 tackles and have enough speed and skill to score in the corner from 10m out when given the space and forwards that can make their 5-8m each time (with a bonus 10m + every now and then) and land on their front occasionally but most importantly protect possession and don’t make lazy PTB errors…

We just have too many lazy players that do not understand their role and cannot maintain concentration and effort under duress…
If Melbourne can get the best out of players that have ordinary history then surely we can do the same, Bellamy won't tolerate mediocrity so why should we

Now that we've finally put to bed any hopes for 2023 after that dogsht effort who should be punted for 2024.
My list

Tuipolutu
Saab
Harper
Parker
Johns
Arthur
Woods
Aloiai
Lawton
Boyle
Tuilagi
Roache

Go and find 12 players who deserve to be in a top 30 NRL squad because this current squad is bog average.
Surely it would be clever to extend Harper so we can lay in the boot when we can't blame the coach, ref, Turbo's hammies, DCE cap space, Penn, DE$ and the media for our woes.

I think Weekes and Aloiai have taken on that roll now.

Ever since Gallen called Alioia out he has provided nothing on the field for Manly, $650K a season for a talker who has fallen that far behind in his game no other club in the NRL would want him.

Hopefully there is a conversation brewing behind the scenes in moving him onto super league.

this would be my look.

Turbo
Saab
Koula
Garrick
Fletcher Myers (rotate in centres)
Schuster
DCE

Paseka
Keppie
Mclean
Gordon CKT
Olakau'atu
Jake T

Sipley
Condon ( i think he will come good with time)
Bullemor

Keppie at hooker.. hmmm
I'm actually really confused as to how you've organised your pack

Aloiai led a potential forfeit last year, every time he plays like last weekend its a stark reminder of how dedicated he is to the team. There is no I in team for the record. Lets commence the cleanout one at a time, we might be all pleasantly surprised at who pulls their socks up if Seibold shows whos in charge.

Great post mate ! There's a lot to be said about accountability, huh !

Tuipolotu should move into the forwards. He's not a good winger but I can see him doing a Corey Oates type transition ( not that Corey stayed in the backrow)
It would give him some versatility value at least.

Agreed , in NSW cup. He's an outright plodder.
