Cleary stays at Tigers

Or maybe he deliberately omitted 2020 and beyond to let the Tigs know that he possibly could do what you said. Both Nathan and Ivan are now the Tigs #1 priority.and their price rose.
I think he will stay at the tigs and Nathan will join him there, funds permitting.

Why not the tigers signing Nathan for 2020 onwards?

Do you honestly think Gould would let Nathan Cleary go without a fight? Penrith is basically building their long term squad around him and if it came down to dollars, which club has the most clout?

I don't know what will happen. Hell they might even end up together here at Manly (stranger things have happened you know). But I'm tipping that Ivan will be back at Penrith from 2020.

Not sure if it's just me but that statement is far from convincing..."I intend to" reads like the equivalent of "has the full support of the board" when a coach is close to being sacked.

If he said "I have no desire to leave the Tigers and I will not be signing with the Panthers" then I could understand reports indicating that Cleary is staying put, but nothing he said sounded rubber stamped to me.

Sounded to me like the typically scripted damage control statement as opposed to a definitive shutting down of innuendo.

Ivan better hope he doesn't get injured for any length of time ..... if he does he may not get back into the team from what I have seen of that young Jarome or whateverhisnameis ...

Cmon Gus, take twent, you have been telling all that will listen , he's a supercoach, he's yours for the taking...PLEASE.!!

I'm happy for Twenty to stay on. Despite the fervour shown by the sack Barrett brigade.

Now ZTH on the other hand. That 12 sandwich eating mother flicker can't fu*k off soon enough. He is a skid mark on this great club.

.

No, they will fight for sure but Nathan only has to accept an offer from the Tigs instead of one from the Panthers when he is due for a new contract.

I don't KNOW either but I think Ivan is too smart to go back near Ghoul and ENOUGH MONEY from elsewhere may enough for both of them.
We will see..

Maybe it's all a case of bumping up your price, and Nathan's while he is at it.

You forget . Cleary experienced the same thing Griffin is now experiencing. One bitten. He will know that despite all the assurances, Gould will still be Gould. Does he want that interference again in how he coaches. Its not as if Gould has only done it once. Its in his nature. He'll do it again to what ever coach is at Penrith and he will expect , after a honeymoon period, total compliance to his will. Cleary would be a fool to return.

Not sure if it has been mentioned in here before, but Cleary is returning from the Never Never Lands to the Superlands to live.

Probably just wants to be closer to the extended family. Make of it what you will.

The only thing I find interesting is the two day delay in Cleary coming out with his denials.

Makes me think he was actually thinking about it, despite what he said!

I am sure he was. But does he really want the Hunchback of Notre Dame (there is that ugly estate of that name out there) pulling his churchbells again?

Especially when he is moving back to the GOC from the lower Glue Mountains.

Agreed, but money still talks.

All I know is that not only do I want Manly to get charged with cruelty to Dogs after this evening's game due to whipping their butts...but that by the time Penrith and the Tigpies figure out who is coaching who and who will be the halfback.....by that time Manly is back on top where we belong.
