Club News 2025

Genuine question.

If season ticket holders dont attend, those seats will be empty but the ground could conceivably be sold out no?
That’s correct - if ticketed members don’t attend the club counts them still pre game as attending. Otherwise they would risk being over capacity on game day.

When I was involved on members council from memory on average around a third of ticket holders didn’t front on game day.

NB members do have the option of returning their tix to the pool if they can’t attend - and getting a refund of sorts if they do.

Thanks for the information.
Does this mean on a day pouring with rain, say, that the 3,000-odd hearty spectators that turn up would be counted as a crowd of 12,000?
What is the official capacity of Brookie these days, and who makes this assessment?
I was among the crowd of 26,000-odd at least a couple of times in the 1970s and 80s. I can't remember any crowd issues although everyone on the Hill was standing.

I believe the crowd figure given on the day is based on the number of people through the turnstiles not on the number of tickets sold or memberships held. Unfortunately the capacity is nowhere near the old days of 26000 (which was great fun). The new stand reduces the capacity as does crowd control rules etc. I think it’s around 19k nowadays but I’ll stand corrected if someone knows for sure.

Yep i too have been there when there were 26,000. 19,000 would be absolutely capacity these days.

Yeah the capacity of the hill has been slashed ever since they introduced those corridors on each side.

Someone said they're for safety, so people can get out easily if there's any sort of disaster, but they have those sections fenced off by the corridors, so you have to make your way to the opening in the fence to access those corridors anyway. I can't see a sell out crowd easily/quickly getting out of there if they ever need to.

When is that list from?

Considering the Dolphins have the hammer how are they on zero?

If wiki is correct then Soufs have 19 NSW players

And again back to wiki it is saying something pretty different for us.

38Les Boyd, Ray Brown, Jamie Buhrer, Mark Carroll, Noel Cleal, Phil Daley, Graham Eadie, Geoff Gerard, David Gillespie, Craig Hancock, Des Hasler, Terry Hill, John Hopoate, William Hopoate, Ben Kennedy, Jason King, Brent Kite, Nik Kosef, Max Krilich, Jamie Lyon, Cliff Lyons, Steve Martin, Steve Menzies, Michael O'Connor, Haumole Olakau'atu, Ian Roberts, Jim Serdaris, Phil Sigsworth, Brett Stewart, Glenn Stewart, Alan Thompson, Geoff Toovey, Jake Trbojevic, Tom Trbojevic, Dylan Walker, Anthony Watmough, David Williams and Tony Williams.

People were commenting and saying it’s wrong.
