I disagree mate. I dont think it would take that much. We have the basis of a good team here.

If you were to throw a Clint Gutherson, Corey Oates or even Jordan Kahu in that backline and someone like Manu Maú, Tevita Pengai Jr, Tepai Moreoa or even Rhyse Martin into the pack then its a real competitor. (all off contract)

On a side note, Corey Oates to the backrow would be worth the gamble IMO. If it's still what he wants to do. Even if it failed you would have one of the games premier wingers on your books.

Would love to see Moeroa here,he was outstanding at prop last week for Eels,would be a BK type at lock too.Plays better in the middle and I think is an ex-rugby type and really mucks in when in the middle.

Agree but it’s still a long way back to full those spots and when you are at the bottom it’s bloody hard to sign any player of note ( unless you pay them a **** load).

We are very probably only 2-3 or 4 decent players away from a top team but getting them is another story.
