Manly’s abysmal NRL dumpster fire absolutely impossible to watch

There were almost as many mistakes as points in the first half of the Dragons’ clash against Manly on Friday night before St George found some form and secured a thumping 38-12 win.

My Vancouver Canucks haven't won the stanley cup, ever, after 50 years of being in the league and I still get more enjoyment out of watching them play at the moment. (which is just as well as a regular season is 82 games..lol)

Manly are certainly hard to watch. glimpses of good things, but too much stupid (like Taupau's offload 1 minute in to no one)

Speaking of Marty, he posted last year that his concussion really shook him up and now I'm wondering if that's taken the fire out of him. Compare him to Paseka for example.

Are repeat sets still a no no at Manly?

The performances are really, really hard to take at the moment. Especially when I think they are capable of so much better.

I also don't want to unload on the team because the media will be more than capable at doing that (with glee) but I just don't know what is so wrong at the core.

Communication in defence must be non existent at times , even in the faster paced game not that hard to number off and to have not such a condensed defensive set up on the edges or general ruck area for that matter . Does n "t look like that Dylan does much talking at the back , not sure if Harper or Funa would either and just on this basis , desperately need Tom back . All sides have their lapses but Manly in defence seem to have a much higher rate and getting the completion rates up is not a coaching thing and just compounds the pressure , especially when a side is struggling . Didn "t mind the ball being thrown around a bit , bit direction less at times but with smart attackers like Schuster and a couple of other stronger attackers , at least the opportunity for something to happen . Foz took the ball to the line well , Schuster has real class , Jake a corner stone , Sipley needed to add to Paseka 's punch , Alioia offers something . Maybe best options going forward until Tom returns , Walker to center replacing Brad [ as much as he tries ] Cust to start , Jet Ski probably should not be in the starting 17 .

I agree. Change is required. We have some quality players and a bunch of second tiers. We need some smart recruiting.
DCE needs to take a pay cut.
Des needs to watch what the successful teams are doing.
The team needs to stop trying the same plays for the same results. Cherry continued to kick to Saab in the corner but the dragons read it every time. He needed to direct through the middle or sweep the play to the other side. Manly don't have any plan B's for when their set plays don't work. The opposition knows exactly what they're going to do.
So frustrating!
