I hear what you're saying (actually I read what you're saying) but why us all of a sudden and so many????*

*I don't expect you to know the answer to this....I'm just surprised we've gotten so many all of a sudden.

I wonder if we will look at buying an extra forward pre June 30 for some extra fwd coverage for this season.

If its his Posterior, there is a chance he could be back late in the year.

ACL - no chance.

Feel for ferris, he is such a valuable player to the team.

Does the dirty work, 30 tackles hit ups where you get belted. Mateo and Symonds don't play that way. Horo is showing some of this he must be this guy now.

Gutted to hear that Ferris could be gone for the season, not only a big loss for the team but it would be hard on him as well.

He is a champion, punches above his weight and just gets in there and does it. Has a good attitude and has some smarts as well. Gosh, I hope he is o.k...........!

So is it:
A) Same knee
B) other knee
C) same knee, same injury
D) same knee, different injury
E) other knee, same injury
F) other knee, different injury

Is Lars the bloke from Metallica?

Yeah Any news on the poor bloke?

If u read this site Ferris - we are thinking of you mate and wishing you all the best.

Must be waiting on a Specialist report.
So Im hoping thats good news as if it was torn, the scan would have shown it

He probably went for scans on Sunday. They would know by now if he has a torn ACL.

Proabably just trying to asses the damage. There is not team list this week so the club probably isnt rushing the announcment.

My specialist assured me that my repaired ACL would be significantly stronger than the original - and so my other knee would be at more risk of an ACL injury than the repaired knee.

As Buhrer's now done both ACLs, hopefully the specialist is right, and his risk is now smaller for both knees. Assume LARS wont be considered because Jamie is still young, so not worth the risk that comes with LARS.

Either way it's terrible for Buhrer and Manly. Was hitting some good form as well.

Sea Eagles win comes at the cost of Buhrer

INJURY SIDELINES FORWARD FOR THE SEASON
His cruciate has gone so he is out for the rest of the year – Manly coach Geoff Toovey

THE worst fears of the Sea Eagles came to fruition yesterday with news that their quiet achiever forward Jamie Buhrer will miss the rest of the season.

He came from the field in Saturday’s spirited 12-10 win over the Storm in Melbourne on Saturday night and by the concerned look on his face, it was never going to be positive news.

“It’s no good. His cruciate (ligament) has gone so he is out for the rest of the year,” Sea Eagles coach Geoff Toovey said yesterday.

It is an even crueller blow for Buhrer, who had just returned from another knee operation after being injured during Manly’s 26-25 win over Penrith in round 25 last season.

“He was just coming back and was having a great game to that point against the Storm. I thought he was outstanding,” Toovey said.

“It takes a little while to get back from a knee reconstruction and he was just starting to find his feet and was doing a lot of work around the middle for us.

“He is going to be sorely missed, for sure.”

So while winger Jorge Taufua made a welcome return from injury against the Storm, Buhrer now takes his spot on the Sea Eagles’ devastating casualty list.

Saturday’s much-needed win was built on the back of a much more consistent defensive effort.

And the leadership shown by stand-in captain, fullback Brett Stewart, also played a big part in the win.

He helped rally the troops in the sheds during the halftime break.

“We made a few errors in the first half and we knew if we addressed that in the second half we were going to challenge them,” Stewart said.

“That’s what we did. We fixed up the errors and (completing) 18 from 20 (sets) was pretty good in those conditions, I think.

“I was very proud to lead them around … it’s been hard the last couple of weeks on the sideline.”

He said the older players took a bit more leadership on Saturday night.

“We just need to back it up every week. The good teams do that so if we can do that we are heading in the right direction,” Stewart said.

Hopefully Paul Carter, no release needed just a clearance from the NRL. He was stood down for drink driving there is quite a few who have done that in the past Tamou comes to mind as a recent one and he didn't miss a whole year because of it.
This would have been the perfect time to promote Jamil Hoppa to 1st grade. His 100% approach in attack and defence would have been fantastic. Silly bugger.
