Sorry, I thought it was drugs and alcohol, but anyway he gave him a hard time (rightly), for being behind the wheel while impaired.

Just on this again, here's the NSW equivalent offences

1 drive with drug (what Mam was charged with)
Driving with the presence of any of these drugs in your oral fluid, blood or urine: cannabis, speed/ice, MDMA or ecstasy, cocaine.

Penalties:

2 Drive under the Influence of drugs or alcohol (DUI) - (Mam NOT charged with this)
driving while affected by illegal or prescription drugs or alcohol.
Penalties:

There was no evidence he was impaired. He was not charged with driving under the influence of drugs. He merely had traces of illegal drugs in his system.
I've posted numerous times about the difference but probably should give up because the false narrative that Mam was driving intoxicated has become accepted at large it seems.

Thank God he wasn’t under the influence - someone may have gotten hurt. Luckily he has a clean prior driving record and this apparently lenient sentence (according to the State Attorney General) will no doubt ensure that continues.

Come to think of it, I haven’t seen an anti drink driving campaign in ages. Admittedly I don’t watch much TV, but the .05 ads used to be everywhere. The graphic nature of some of those ads got a lot of exposure back in the day. Might be time for a refresher course.

I spent a large part of my life in advertising - unfortunately due to over exposure these ads (like all road speed ones) have lost their effectiveness.

Gotta love old Buzz too. He is a bit like Ray Warren in his later years, we know his time is near, and we have to overlook a lot of his errors, but his experience gets him over the line most times.

He's got form when it comes to inability to handle his drink. I recall him getting charged with damaging car/s when he was on a bender and jumped on the bonnet of one or more parked cars. I think they found him passed out at the scene of the crime or something. And that was going back a few years now, so he has had a problem for a while. Makes you wonder how many other incidents have been swept under the carpet

I think in both cases they have lost all life perspective.

Instead of reading their column in the paper, just tune in to 360 to get their opinion.

Not surprised TBH. But those figures probably don't include people who "watch it later" like we can do with streaming/on demand television these days.

I often miss the first screening and just watch it later if I have time. I wouldn't be surprised if I wasn't the only one.

True. Old school "Nielsen-style" ratings are essentially useless these days, where content is played on demand, cut up, and endlessly regurgitated across a network, in print and online. The reach of a show like NRL 360 would be much greater than those ratings would indicate. Still doesn't mean it's not sh#t though.

I agree about it being 💩 , but when you live in an Aussie rules town, even with Foxtel you take league where you can get it.
