George Rose is a giant young prop forward who will be joining the Sea Eagles forward pack in 2006.
Originally from the NSW country town of Bathurst he came to the Sydney Roosters via the Bathurst Penguins and impressed in the Roosters successful lower grade premiership winning teams of previous seasons.
He made his first grade debut in Round 6 2004 against the Newcastle Knights. He didn’t receive another chance in the Roosters star studded line up until 2005 when he played a further 5 games in top flight company.
Although not playing a starring role when given the chance in first grade for the Roosters, Rose definitely has the size and ability to make an impact for the Sea Eagles. Towards the end of 2005 our forward pack lacked the required punch to make an impression when the big games started.
To gain a starting position in the Eagles front row, he will be up against steady performers in Daniel Heckenburg and Kylie Leuluai and the inconsistent Jason King. It is hoped that Rose will provide the size, strength and maybe a bit of mongrel to the Sea Eagles side which will take the club into the Top 6 in 2006.
George’s vital statistics are:
Born: 13 March 1983
Weight 110 kgs
Height 188 cm
