We'd all loved to have played for the Manly Sea Eagles but couldn't.
They did it for us...

What is the criteria for Golden eagles. I have heard that it includes players that may have only played like SG Ball, or even just been an administrator, runner, coach in much lower grades. Plenty of people there that I couldn't recognize

Yes agree with that , I’m sure lots there from when I was first watching in the 70’s but fecked if I know what they look like these days!!

Looking at the GE website it indicates that only graded players are eligible;

If you’re an ex-first, second or third grade player for Manly, we want to hear from you. Contact us and we’ll add you to the Golden Eagles membership.

I think that has been loosened somewhat to increase numbers.....just what I heard from someone inside the group, so not known as fact.

Looks awesome. Was hoping I could have made it to see the parade but unfortunately had an engagement over the other side of the city. Was lucky to even make it out there. Only missed the first 10 minutes of the game (after driving a bit faster than I should have through Burnt Creek ).

Actually the record isn't too bad I was thinking similarly after the game and did some research (Inaugural Golden Eagles Day 2015):
2015 Lost, 2016 Won, 2017 Won, 2018 Lost, 2019 Won

The 'bloody embarrassment' was last year's game when we were flogged by the Roosters in front of around 150 Golden Eagles Fortunately we redeemed ourselves this year 🙂
