The young bloke has made a decision that something in life is more important than being a high-paid star in the NRL. The last bloke I can think of who made that decision is currently our captain. I applauded him back then and I applaud Hoppa now, even though the Southpark video makes me laugh, if he wants out for whatever reason then go for it.

And Dan, I think it is to Manly's credit that they made the announcement. It doesn't advance our footy prospects for next year, but it does advance our standing as a club that cares a little for players, beyond what their bodies can produce on the field.

Good luck to the young man! We'll miss him at Manly in 2012-13 and hope for his return to the Maroon and White family in 2014.

That article by James Phelps in the DL is BS, the only thing that will keep him out of the NRL upon his return, is if he decides to dominate a particular sport in the USA on his mission.
