Is the game too fast?

I remember the days when there were no reserves.
Then the game got soft and brought in two reserves, but once they were on they had to stay on. If a player broke a leg you'd have to play with 12 men. All players were expected to guts it out for 80 minutes, on minimal pay.
I find it hard to feel sorry for the current bunch on massive contracts, some of which only need to play in 20 minute stretches.

It is too fast!! There is no breaks for players now and the six again rules make the game more and more like Oztag.

They have pretty much done away with scrums, its a handover now. We are going to see more and more blow out scores as this is all designed for a TV audience that just wants to see tries!

FMD and none at Brooky !
Yeah, but a lot of those guys must have at one stage of their careers played at Brooky, and who knows what latent injuries they have attained only to become evident down the track?, that's what Rothfield will have you believe.
The swamp where his team plays is no better.

How many of those injuries would have occurred anyway ?? Fatigue obviously affects technique and execution, but a lot of these injuries over the weekend occurred in the first half. Some of those players have been ruled out before the game due to training injuries. Also how many of them are failed HIA's ?? Obviously the NRL are much stricter on concussion protocols than they have ever been. The bulk of those players would have played on 5 years ago.

What I don't get is that none of these injuries have occurred at Brookvale, wasn't it a virtual death trap a couple of seasons ago ?

No breaks in play?

Have you watched Manly and the Bulldogs play.

They have both worked out a way to beat the system and get a 2 minute break every 10 minutes. Dont tackle.

Once the other teams catch on we will finally have an even comp.

Every time one of these journos have an agenda to push re safety of Brookvale Oval,I always point to DCE’s longevity and minimal games lost to injury

Or DCE doesn't take on the line enough in a direct fashion to be tackled in a manner that will jam his feet into the soft ground causing injuries.

I'm half kidding....

True, the last two or three years, but prior to being a regular Origin player and turning 30,that was never a problem
