Now that the Bears have left their area vacant and are finally exiled to play home games in the Perth colony, it is time for Manly NRL to engage with all of the junior clubs and comps north of the Harbour and Parramatta River so they merge with Manly Juniors into one massive Sea Eagles nursery and NRL pathway for juniors from Milson Pt, to the Hawkesbury and to Cherrybrook plus the Northern Beaches. Same with marketing to sponsors, fans and schools.
This would make the Sea Eagles a giant.
The equivalent geographic area on the south side of Sydney supports nearly 6 NRL clubs Rorters, Souths, half of the Dragons, Bulldogs, Sharks & Wests Tigers. It is a bigger than Perth or Adelaide and has rugby league culture already established.
Manly don't want to end up in an isolated area like Cronulla are. One day those juniors numbers will go into free fall.
In the end, mum and dad from Willoughby are not going to want to have or to agree to their 17 year old boy move to Western Australia.
