Not sold of Leary either. It's not that I think he is overly bad, I just don't think the game suits a "David Stagg" type player; I'd rather we put out a monster pack full of mongrels.

Looks a strong line-up on paper but they could come out flat again and never look like winning. Hoping for an inspired performance at Brookie this weekend.

Happy to see JLJ named as it was previously reported that he had been injured.

Willie isn't a starting front rower. Watched a fair bit of him last year in Newey and he was great off the bench. played max 20 > 30m mins a game. Needs to come on for impact.

I'd throw JSL on first up for enthusiasm, have Willie/Burgess swapping for impact.

Our defence in the middle is missing Starling & Buhrer big time.

Looks like for some Leary has to score 5 try's 2 try assists and make 40 tackles to get a pass mark in his first top grade game for us aswell ....

I know some will poke fun at this suggestion.
I am going to suggest Leary is a specialist left side player. Certainly the 6 or so games I've seen him play for the Pride. He's at his best playing on that left edge where Horo was running straight lines inwards last year.

No Foz in our side may actually be the best thing for this lad. He's not a straight hole runner. He's a ball playing back rower. Yeah actually comparing him to Gify is not out of place because he seemed to do his best work on the right. Just put him on the left, give him earlier ball with time and space to work with and I think you will see what I am talking about.

But If he doesn't set up 13 tries in his second top grade game for us. How about we let him play a 3rd and give him a bit f time to settle in and develop.

Who are the ones as young as Tommy Turbo?
Off the top of my head Alex Johnston (played last year at 19) Milford been playing first grade since 18 and Sione Mata'utia is 18. I'm sure more players are of that age also. He also weighs 96 kg so he is hardly a rag doll.

About the same weight as Brett.

He is actually taller and heavier than snake. So this hold him back crap doesn't cut it we never held snake back we shouldn't hold this kid back. Play a journey man like Blair or play a local junior with so much upside I know who I would be picking everyday of the week.

yeh theres just about 10cm difference in height. You can't honestly tell me he looks like he's filled into his frame yet. He's going to be about 105kg when he's done growing

Not at all. I said in another thread about a week ago that I think he'll end up really big, and agree about the 105 mark (he could get bigger quite easily but that would be counter-productive). I am not calling for him to come in this year (but I don't think he'd struggle physically) - it's his brother I think should come in provided his ankle is fine. As for Tom, I am a little surprised that they haven't put him in NSW cup to be honest.

Out of interest, Gutherson is almost as tall (190cm), but 4kg lighter than Tom.

mavins baying for blood because he's not playing. I think he'd get smoked in NSW cup at the moment not in skill level but in big guys trying to take his head off. I think it's good that the club is protecting him. They seem to understand he's still growing and developing. Also he only turned 18 last october. now if only fans were so patient.........

TBH I think age/experience might have more to him being held back. As I said above (edited), Gutherson was thrown into NRL at 4kg lighter but a similar height (just a little shorter) than Tom. I think you'll find he moves into NSW Cup this year for sure.

I reckon he'll end up in NSW Cup at some stage too.

Really Looking forward to seeing Ligi Sao in action. People seem to have discounted him but when he made his debut against the cowboys he looked the goods. Surprised its taken this long for his second go. I suspect he's a better option than Hasson.
