I honestly can't stand that twat!!! Just read his article about Jarryd Hayne & whilst I agree Hayne is not worth a million $$$, his bit about 'only 4 or 5 players are basically worth it' got me real riled up.....see below in bold!

“If you are going to pay that sort of money, you need to be confident that the recipient will perform week in, week out and drive the cultural standards of a club.

“… It’s fair to say Hayne is not in their category.”

He's right about Hayne. Also right about 3 of those other 4 (Slater not quite in the top shelf consistency wise). Why do you think Queensland have dominated NSW ? Those guys just deliver. Killer was the closest we've had to that level of player over the last few seasons.

Queenslanders love Queenslanders, and because the Titans backflip apparently DCE is dead to them so he never gets held in regard.

The Dally M half is between cronk and DCE this year (probably beating cronk atm, before the Manly tax is applied), but of course he doesn't get a mention.

In his defence, NSW are really lacking in talent compared to Qld. There are some shining lights like the turbos, Nathan Cleary, Tedesco (when he wants to), etc... but no-one at the level of Smith.

Partly because they were all recruited when the largest systematic, long-term cap rort ever was taking place. It's hard to out-bid a club for up and coming superstars when they've got a $2 million head start on you in the cap. They should have been forced to ditch players like Parramatta were. Only given the magnitude of what they did, it should have been a minimum 2 of the "big 4".

Gotta say things are out of whack at the moment!!

With a salary cap of $9.2 Million how is any ONE player worth a Million $$$! (over 10%)

The idiots running the clubs throw money around to entice players and have totally f***** up the balance!

Looking at some of the club's rosters, there's gotta be at least 2 or 3 clubs who are rorting the cap this year because of their Million $$ players!
