Apparently Corey Oates may have been told he can go elsewhere , funny I would have thought Milford would be high on the list!!

On a huge day for the club as players attended Broncos headquarters for their end-of-season reviews with coach Anthony Seibold, it has also now emerged:

— The door is reportedly open for the Broncos to join the race for former Cronulla star Valentine Holmes’ signature, despite the Cowboys reported to have a rich offer on the table to the New York Jets running back

— Captain Darius Boyd is set to be told he is not in the team’s plans for round one of the 2020 season;

— The Broncos will consider letting star utility Jack Bird leave a year early, if he receives offers from rival clubs; and

— Star No. 9 Andrew McCullough admitted his future at the club is uncertain.

Garry told Macquarie Sports Radio the club could have the difficult conversation with Boyd as early as Wednesday’s end-of-season review meetings.

He said the club has made it clear Boyd will not reach the 15-games threshold in 2020 that he needs to unlock the clause in his contract that activates an additional year in his deal, taking him through to the end of the 2021 season.

I didn't want to start a new thread so here tis:

STAR Brisbane Broncos players Jack Bird and Matt Lodge were involved in a heated scuffle following a Gold Coast bonding session at the weekend.

The Courier-Mail can reveal Lodge and Bird were involved in a physical altercation after the Broncos held a training and bonding session at Burleigh on Saturday.

While Broncos officials declined to comment, the two players are understood to have settled their differences and attended a dinner hosted by a club official on Sunday night.

Inconclusive most likely means that Fifita denied everything and the Balinese guy refused to comment (most probably under an NDA) so the investigation ended.

Fifita escapes punishment
WOW
He apologies to the Balinese guy
Gets locked up for 3 day's
Pays a settlement
And the Nrl says there is insufficient evidence due to lack of an interpreter and so on the joke of the Nrl continues
Wow

Apparently Corey Oates may have been told he can go elsewhere , funny I would have thought Milford would be high on the list!!

Milford is seen as their long term 5/8. The only reason he got moved to fullback this year was because they had to cover for how poor Darius Boyd was and Milford was the only one they had who could play in the #1. But Milford is never going to win them a premiership as a half without an organising halfback to compliment him ... not to mention a better pack and probably a better coach.

As for this Fifita BS......if that was Marty or AFB the NRL would have stood them down by now.

But Brisbane must be slipping. In years gone by no one would have ever heard of this incident such would be the extent they'd go to to keep it out of the papers.

Nothing will ever change while Brisbane, Melbourne, Easts, Souths, Parramatta et al continue to play in the NRL. When you consider the following it becomes apparent that the NRL and channel nine are a law unto themselves.
-The Choc, Inglis and Burgess medical retirements.
-Smith testimonial.
-Barb’s diamond ring.
-Bellamy going to the basketball with Toddles.
-Slater cleared of shoulder charge.
-Parra cleared to play for points in the same year as they wrote up fake invoices to cheat the cap with no future cap penalty.
-Farcical 3rd party agreements,
-Tigers and Manly drilled for $350k for 2 seasons over much lesser offences.
-Greenberg regularly meeting Politis for a latte.
-Consistency is overrated.
-Discretionary stand down powers.
-The Matt Lodge debacle.
-The eye balling of Matt Lodge.
-Grass roots footy.
-The Sharks cheating the year before and after their GF, but not that season.
-David Fifita.
-Nelson Asofa Solomona.
-Brett Stewart and Snake being denied medical retirement, but Choc being cleared.
-The Sutton monopoly on refereeing.
-James Maloney’s gaffe regarding a 3rd party Keno deal he was waiting on the the Panthers organise for him.
-The decline of Refereeing.
-The big stadium policy.
-Broncos monopoly on Friday nights.
-The judiciary system.
-Zero accountability.
-Roosters players signing for unders while Glen Stewart’s cut priced deal is rejected.
-NRL bonuses to management.
The list goes on, and on, and on... but we’ll still win the competition soon, despite their corruption.

-James Maloney’s gaffe regarding a 3rd party Keno deal he was waiting on the the Panthers organise for him.

That one gets me, it really does. At the very same time the NRL was on its salary cap witch hunt against Manly and would ultimately find nothing more than technical breaches of TPA rules. Mostly that we were allegedly involved when clubs are supposed to be at arms length from TPA's.

Yet here was Maloney saying on television that he was waiting for Penrith and Keno to work out the deal that would see him effectively take over the Keno deal previously given to Matt Moylan. Yet not one single thing was done about the fact that quite obviously Penrith were heavily involved with at least one player's TPA deal.

Where is Penrith's $600,000+ salary cap penalty?

NRL chief executive Todd Greenberg said it was important the game made evidence-based decisions about player behaviour.

- Err, isn't that the exact opposite of a 'no fault' stand down policy?

Also 'lack of evidence' in the farce-fita case? The 30k payment wasn't enough of a red flag???

No wonder they can't catch the roosters rorting the cap.

It is a cynical team running the game, favouring certain clubs that bring them TV ratings and money over the overall health of the game which is struggling.

The recent decisions to allow Fifita to get away with what he did due to lack of evidence is FARCIAL!!! Allowing the Vermin to retire Sam Burgess which gives them a distinct advantage in the player market when other clubs have legitimate claims NOT given makes it a joke.

The swamp needs to be emptied and the next TV deal needs to be for all clubs not a few. The donkeys continue to enjoy favourtism due to their News Filth links.

The game needs change as its rapidly becoming a comp for about six clubs and the rest of us get the scraps. The bald headed twit says its an even comp, its a joke! The rosters that the Rorters, Vermin and Drizzle have tells you that. Clubs like ours and the Tigers are hammered over breaches while other ones like the whinging worms get a relatively light slap on the wrist for much bigger crimes, the Guppies cheat the cap either side of the year they won the comp, which is another joke.

THIS HAS HAPPENED ALL UNDER GREENTURDS WATCH!!! Get rid of him!!

Last 10 grand finals:
Chook/Raiders
Chook/Storm
Storm/Cow
Shark/Storm
Cow/Bronc
Bunny/Dog
Chook/Sea Eagles
Storm/Dog
Sea Eagles/Warriors
Saint/Chook

Spread of team success in reaching grand final during last 10 years:
4 Chook, Storm
2 Sea Eagles, Cow, Dog,
1 Raiders, Shark, Warrior, Saint, Bunny, Bronc
0 Tiger, Panther, Titan, Knight, Eel

Spread of team success in reaching grand final during last 20 years:
8 Chook, Storm
4 Sea Eagles
3 Cow, Dog, Bronc
2 Eel, Warrior
1 Panther, Tiger, Knight, Raiders, Shark, Saint, Bunny
0 Titan

Yeah, salary cap etc seems to be working pretty well (!)

For what it's worth, with 16 teams over a 20 year period, a par rating would be 2.5 grand final appearances for each team.

*Titans only started in 2007
edit - also Manly only played in 17 of those years
