One positive with how the top 8 ended up is that they couldn't schedule any games at ANZ.

Despite the constant attempts by those in charge to kill it, rugby league finds a way to survive.

The worry is where we'll have to go if we lose. Can't figure it out on the NRL predictor, who do we play in week two?

Back off to Townsville, Melbourne or even Brisbane?

IF, and there won't be an IF this year :dodgy:

The loser of the Scumos and Dogs

The highest placed Team in the regular Season, gets to host - don't PANIC
Losers from qualifying finals will host the matches.

That's ridiculous. What's the point in finishing top 2 or even Top 4?

The teams finishing 5th and 6th are guaranteed home finals until Week 3?

Or if the 7th or 8th team win they get a home final in Week 2?

Is that what the NRL is saying?

Yep there's only an advantage in week 1 (if you are Canterbury, Rabbitts or Roosters, every other Sydney team gets no advantage) and disappears if you lose.

So Melbourne and the Cowboys will play at home until week three if they keep winning.

Brisbane, who made it into the 8 by default, will play in Brisbane in week 2 if they win this week.

So if Melbourne win and we lose we are off to Melbourne.

Go the Dogs

The advantage of finishing in the Top 4 is that if you lose in week 1, you still get a home game in week 2.

Week 3 (Preliminary Finals) and the GF is always played in Sydney.

How important is this game. If we can pull of a win it's straight to week three against either riff or cows.

Yes, correct. Had to find that out on a site other than the NRL's though.

Wrong
if Manly lose to souffs week 2 we play winner of Storm v Dogs at their home state, which is Storm at Aami or Dogs at Sfs

NRL has announced that for 2014 finals series, all matches from week 2, up to & including GF, will be played in Sydney, either at Allianz or ANZ.

Wrong

Wrong - based on the last couple of years.

But they may change the rules like they did with moving the second placed winners game from Saturday to Friday night.

Anyway, if Manly lose on Friday it will all be a moot point as they are physically unable to play 4 weeks of finals :s

So with everything the team has accomplished this year, despite the adversity of the Glenn drama, constant injuries including major players in round 25, a dodgy scheduling from rounds 21-26, 2nd place Manly still gets shafted in the finals.
To win this year would be a great achievement.
Time to start building the faith, despite the logistics of it all.
We have a chance to win with guts, determination and some luck.
Fly high the Mighty Sea Eagles.

This is only because all Top 4 teams are from Sydney and the highest ranked team gets home city "advantage" for every game in the finals, except the GF - which is obviously at ANZ no matter what.

In week 2 the losers on the Top 4 games will be the home teams.
