Match Stats

Keppie = 1 try assist for Canterbury, an offload guaranteed to lead to a try.
That was not an offload. An offload is passing to a teammate. That was just throwing the ball away so the other team has a shot at it.
Same as Harper's later in the match. Strange behaviour, especially in wet weather. And in Keppie's case, especially in the first 20 seconds of the game a few metres from your own line!

Both were akin to a bride throwing a bouquet at a wedding.

An interesting one - against the Panthers and Bulldogs, Manly's defensive efforts have resulted in two almost identical shoulder injuries against opposition prop forwards (Moses Leota for Penrith, Jack Hetherington for Canterbury). Leota is gone for 8 to 10 weeks, Hetherington for the year. No place for the faint-hearted out on the field it seems; it looks like the Roosters got off lightly.

While we wish no ill will to opposition players, Canterbury probably would have lost Hetherington to a judiciary charge or three this year anyway, if the past is anything to go by.

Crowd looked pretty good on TV considering the weather, what was the official attendance?

Not sure if this has been mentioned on this thread but Cummings refereed very, very poorly yesterday IMO. He let them lie on us continuously without penalty, a couple of time with DCE especially. At one stage Cherry just stood up and motioned " how long is this guy allowed to maul me on the ground without you interviening you plodder ??". Also that marker incident in the northern corner when DCE was eventually stripped and we lost our referral was a penalty for offside 99 times out of 100. Cummings was terrible. Don't think he likes our Captain.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Clearly Scott Sattler didn't watch the game, Foran robbed of 3 points here.

  • Dally M votes: 3 - Daly Cherry-Evans, 2 - Tom Trbojevic, 1 - Jeremy Marshall-King. Judge: Scott Sattler.
Well, to be fair, his effort allocating points was congruent with Cherry's performance.

It was a pure panic play. Felt himself trapped in a gang tackle and being pushed back and panicked.

Reflections from the game.
Spent the majority of it hiding behind a pillow and managing my own breathing strategies.
We cannot judge the ability of either of those teams due to the match conditions.
Bulldogs first try was pure wet weather arse.
DCE’s worst mistake was not finding touch on the penalty kick.
Manly did cross the line about 4 times without getting the ball down.
Too many mistakes of course - this can be fixed.
Morgan, a shocker but no need for the gallows. He needs to stop pushing the pass.
Saab needs to regrow some confidence.
The team was tenacious to get the win.
Need new attacking plans within the 20.
Standouts for me: Tom, Jake, Foz, Walker, Rubes.
A win is a win. Yay!
They will gain some confidence.
Go Manly!

How Bozo influence lifted Manly over the line

Crickey! You have to wonder if this alliance with Blacktown is working for both parties.
Seems the players in our 30 not required for 1st grade sit idle. Meanwhile week after week the resisies get flogged.
