QUOTE: 'Stewart through the legs went backward out of the hands and floated forward. Don't know what the fuss was about'.

In all fairness, the ball can't float forward unless you have forward momentum, or there is a BIG wind. Snake was standing still.

I thought Manly were gone down 20-10, great performance to come back. Gifty had a huge game.

I watch to enjoy Manly win Jerry....sorry I don't shoulder the burden of worrying about the plight of other teams.you should try it,it feels GOOD.

I get a bigger kick out of the nature of those wins. Let's be honest, sport is built around myths and narratives. We could be like the EPL where a small number of economically successful teams buy up the best talent and dominate year in and year out.

If my team won in shoddy circumstances I feel better about being able to admit that, rather than gloat about winning for winnings sake. I feel a bit shallow about tonight's win though I'm happy we won rather than lost. I think given the circumstances that is a reasonable response.

I can tell you now which attitude the success of this club is built around, and it ain't accepting shoddy wins.

You hit the nail on the head!!! I can guarantee Toovey would not be happy with large parts of our game tonight. Its the reason we are such a successful team.

I noticed their defender wss hanging onto Buhrer hoping to get an obstruction ruling from refs. It didn't pay off and the cow was deliberate.

You should try a bit of honesty. Win lose or draw its always good. When we get shafted you can have a bitch without being totally two faced.

We got the 2 points from some luck, I'm sure we'll lose a game or two on the back of some bad luck, the confidence to turn down the shot at one point for a 5 tackle no kick option was outstanding and I hope the team don't feel disappointed or robbed because that was what great teams do, we played what was in front of us and took the 2 points.

On another point can anyone remember the last time we actually won the ball off a short kick off?!

I was thinking the same thing. I really hope we can work on those short kick offs, I think we have lost possession every single time it has happened for a long long time.

The issue lies with us being absolutely terrible in the air !

crowd of 10,013,

Would have had more at brooky at full ticket price.

Barely. Lol

I reckon 14 k brookie and big night at the club and brookie pub after, no local would drive up the f3 today. Even if they rename it the m1

Well, that extra 3-4k would like, uhm, move mountains?

Let's face it it is a suburban tribal game, 14 k is it

My thoughts from the game:

- Buhrer has to run through the line and not stop. Foran scores no matter if Buhrer impedes or not though.

- JSL hits the line hard everytime. Love his work!

- Hiku has to control the ball better coming out of our own half.

- We have to learn to jump for the ball!!! Contest at least! Sweet jesus.

- The players toughed it out and got the pie. Thats what footy is all about. Controlling what you can control. Well done to Foz who stood up big time in the final 10.

It may have started as a "suburban tribal game", but commercialism has well and truly entrenched the game now. So, quaint 4k differences will fall on deaf ears for the powers to be.

Great result and Killer was incredibly happy to get the biscuits. Have a shot at JT all you like folks but he had to be close to MOTM tonight. He moved it left, right, short, long until he found a gap. Foran did the same but not as often. Loved that win and it is a happy Easter for me. Rabs, Sterlo & Gus can eat a big one as their whinge just doesn't affect me.

Good to see Jake T warming up with the boys. Think we are missing a workhorse like him in the team. Hope he gets a go soon.

Foz just found the holes more easily when it counted. They looked dead on their feet just before the Foz try, and I was confident we would get away with that. We had some help from the ref but to be honest even without that try we would have won it anyway

They are a decent team and they threw everything at us.
I just read this whole thread and I think you are the first to give Cows any credit. They threw a lot at us and we gave them chances by turning over possession. That was our main failing, not attitude.

Our players never gave up even though many of us (including me) were fearing the worst for a while.

David Williams' defence on that right wing is abysmal

tbh he only let in the first try, the other 2 came in throught the left

I know he only let in one try but his lack of rugby league IQ is showing on that right wing. Most of the time he is in no mans land and runs in without even knowing where his opposition number is standing. The stupid pass he threw from dummy half to Hiku was a rookie mistake. Hiku was always going to be dragged back into the in goal. He should of had a run.

He is playing like a reserve grader and I think Blair should be in the pecking order over him.

Yeah that's the point I'd like to make too @SeaEagleRock8...
The Cowboys were really good tonight, and unlucky, to be fair. The standard of refereeing is clearly a massive concern. They're struggling big-time with the new rules and interpretations and games are becoming a lucky dip.

If the Cows were unlucky, we were gutsy and I like that. No doubt Tooves and the players wouldn't be happy with much of that performance...but no Chez, Choc, ( King again ) and Foz n Skivvy playing wounded, to cite at least two...we never turned it up and yeah, won ugly again.

You can't blame the players for 50/50 calls, the Cows really had a crack tonight, and the character, experience, and just that touch of class when needed got us home.

We should take it for what it is, coz I'm sure we'll get the short straw refereeing-wise again soon.

Forans try is a no try, and theoretically the cows should have won 21-20, I feel dirty !

having just returned from the ground and watched the replays I have to say you are incorrect in the scoreline.

it should have been 20 - 15.

Foran was impeded far worse in the cows last try. Neither should have been awarded
