Game Day: Manly V Eels [Round 8, 2024]

So you guys had your worst game so far this year against Manly? 🤪

Every week feels like our worst week but yeah Manly game we were prob at our worst. Dragons actually played very well against us so full credit to them. Their defense was superb. Titans we were great for 8 mins and then fell away playing very conservative. Some very dumb mistakes (i.e. a challenge we lost 18 seconds to halftime which was rather pointless) etc didnt help. We had some good momemts in that game though. Against you guys we were very flat. Judging by past two games suprised you guys didnt beat us (prob would with Saab and Garrick). Either that or Titans and Dragons played really well against us and really nullified us. Both fairly discliplined too. I would err on the side that we were outcoached against Titans and Dragons.

I'm tipping both Koula and Tom to either get doubles or hat tricks

Koula has a decent matchup against Penisini, though Sanders playing on the right edge will get plenty of traffic thrown at him.

A Smokey for a try could be Waddell today, the face ball from Brooks will be on against Sanders..

I think this will be the game where Garrick finally hits his straps at centre. Particularly in attack. And also for Turbo to go up another gear.

We are looking at a pretty well experienced squad here. I may be wrong but our most inexperienced player is Koula although he has enough experience to tear the Eels to shreds if we get a fast open game.

I'd like to see him hit his straps in defence. Attack will take of itself.

This is my most important Manly game of all time in my 37 years supporting them. I have never felt so emotional and amped for any of our other games even Grand Finals. Terry Hill's passing has really hit a spot for me. He is the pure definition of - inspiration, class, gutsiness and loyalty for our mighty club. ****!!!
