Manly v Knights pre-game discussion Round 14

On last years form Parker ...but watched him in the U20's a few weeks ago and he got in the clear but looked like he was running in quicksand, expected him go all the way but was caught way too easily.
Bulked up since last year but has sacrificed speed, so can see why Trent has gone with Jono, that was obviously what he was bought for - experienced 1st grade back-up.
Could all be a moot point if Turbo is fit anyway as I assume Matty Wright will move to Jorge's wing spot.
Parker had only just come back so I'm sure that impacted fitness/speed. That will build up soon enough I suspect.

I think this will be very, very close. It will be a very wet, heavy track. I can't see the offloads flowing like we normally do - which is key to our attack this year.

I believe we will win; however, it won't be a big margin, 6-10 points max.

Uate's old club...the club that dropped him to reserve grade.

Hope he scores 5 tries!!! That would also mean Dylan Walker passes 5 times! lol

(ok, i know they can do cutout passes, kicks, etc but that doesn't help the joke.)

Go Uate!!!!!
Funny man, and ridiculously passionate about the Eagles half a world away, in a country that goes nuts about men in ice skates. I tip my hat to you @global, cheers old mate!

We are going to miss Horhay more than many think, his barnstorming runs off the line are a big part of our game, and despite his foibles in the air he more than knows how to get to the opposition try line.

A real shame he's gone for the year.
I will miss holding my breath every time a bomb goes up his was but like each one of us he is not perfect . There is only one immortal 🙂

Jorge was by far our best winger over the last 20 years. He still could become our best winger of all time if he manages to get a few more years for us under his belt.

I totally agree that Jorge with be missed along with his early hit ups in each set. I can't help but think this might be better off in the bigger picture and i am looking at the situation with the glass half full. But given that Jorge and Write are a very similar body type in size it won't change our structure of play at all. Yes Jorge's post concact meters are massive but Write has the late footwork at the line. Write will play the exact roll Jorge would of been playing with the bonus of being safe under the high ball and the goal kicking that our team needs to win against the top teams. By all means I'm not saying Write is a better winger than Jorge but Write is the perfect back up.

I hope Barrett is just playing a little bit of shadow play over Johnno Wright. He's not first grade material and makes us quite vulnerable on that side. I would have even gone for Tom Wright if Parker isnt ready. But though I think its a mistakes I think Tom Terrific will be back and Mwright on the wing.

Who knows what's in baz's head.

I've know MW practiced all year at FB.

So maybe Jonno practiced C and W ?

Both have plenty of FG experience so I think we'll be fine.

Parker needs some time playing for Blacktown I think. Not U20.

He has never appeared to be an out and out speedster just like Kelly however both are genuine centres imo with great footwork and very good acceleration over the first 5-10m which is enough to draw in the opposition winger so they can put theirs away.

Parker as a centre is a damn good bomb taker which helps when filling in on the wing.
