Hopefully not reliant a field goal to get Manly home. Far as I can see from the stats the only player in the Manly 17 to ever kick a field goal is Foran with 1 kicked. He got it for the Dogs vs Cows in 2018 to go from 18-0 to 19-0 just before halftime. See it here:

Okay ... the real issue with Walker is ... with Joey "the Toad" gone to the Tigers, and Curtis Scott out ... who will Dylan upset .. is that firey Ranga playing ... he would have to be a walk up start ...

Really don't see why you think Walker is such a bad defender? Statistically he has been better over many years than all of our outside backs including Parker. He's aggressive, and has great line speed, rarely misses, and more often than not has come out on top of his opposite number. He was one of the best right-side centres in the game for a few years, and, if you recall the first part of 2019, he was dynamite at 6 - a big reason why Manly had a great start to the season (before he got injured).

Walker is an experienced Premiership-winner with definite x-factor, who has always given it his all, no matter where he is asked to play. I completely understand why some would want him out of the club, but let's be honest here, the reason being his off-field behaviour, and the general image that the club is associated with. Fair enough. It is certainly not for his on-field performances. I like that Des has got him covering Chez's position. Foz to straighten our attack and direct the team around with his kicking, and Walks as a running, and unpredictable right-side playmaker (very similar to Chez's best attributes - minus his kicking game. Although Walks is not too bad a kicker either)

Walker had a crack at field goal out of dummy half from 40 metres out a year or two ago and just barely missed it. I'm sure if needed he can have a crack. But if we are within a point of a raiders team that is even weaker than the one that the Titans just put 44 points on then we have way bigger problems than a lack of field goal kickers.

It seems a bit dramatic to say he was “the worst on the park”. What’s the point? We won by 66, and didn’t let them score. Hard to criticise anyone in the team.

In terms of who is the worst defender, it depends on what context. Walker has played Fullback, 5/8, Centre, and Lock in the last two years. All specialised defensive positions that require different reads and different skills.

You put Jake at centre I bet he would get rinsed, despite everyone on here probably considering him our best defensive player.

According to NRL stats Walker missed ONE tackle against the Bulldogs in 49 minutes. Hardly a big issue. He also had 27 effective tackles, 12 runs for 97m, 2 tackle breaks, a try assist and a linebreak assist.

BOOM! Haha - that is so funny. The vendettas on here are blinding.

Still another week of this remote outback dusty travels / fishing expedition to go and I’ll be back posting regularly.

Not that I’ll be home ( currently in the Gulf of Carpentaria ) but I’ll be doing “ tourist stuff “ to appease Mrs MFB.

Well appease isn’t exactly fair as I’ll no doubt be enjoying it as well but yes a few weeks of tourist stuff before we head back down the coast and I meet up with a mate for a few weeks of “ beach rod bravado “.

Pleased to see our Eagles still doing well.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he replaced De Luis or Burbo.

I'd be totally surprised. Burbo is going well, making good use of limited game time whilst our forward stocks are down. He is part of long term planning for the club, but I don't know if Jack is. De Luis is a relieving middle forward. I doubt he'd be replaced by a Jack, a relatively lightweight back rower. Anyway, we will found out tomorrow night.
