The 4 tackle rule was a dud, it was a game of field goals, and Manly was building toward 1972.

I mean I was just flicking through the 1997 game v the knights and saw:

Passes actually going backwards,
Deep back lines
No wrestling
Players playing the ball if injured without a trainer immediately running on and stopping the game for 5 mins
Ref (singular) letting the game flow.

Are you sure you uploaded rugby league games? Seems unrecognisable!

yep, didn't even stop the game when tooves took a kick to the head

I've had a bit of a hankering to view the 1978 Manly v Parramatta Minor Semi Final (13-13 draw) and Replay (17-11 to Manly).
However, it seems these are not readily available.

The Haka (approx 46m30sec) is a lot diff today then back then.

Manly lost this game 23 - 20. This game is infamous for a late Manly try that was unfortunately disallowed. Why the ref didnt go to the bunker, I dont know. The try would have levelled the scores with a kick from Eadie to come to possibly win it. I have a clipping from my scrap book (remember them) about this:
