It’s a bit like that isn’t it?

The worst parts of off season are ( same most years).

1) not knowing what the final make up will be for the next year, and often we won’t know until December, so that’s two full months of this crap, and two months of rumours, posters discrediting each other’s rumours and slagging off at the sports journo’s ( that part I like ).

2) then from about February , when the Silvertails natives are starting to get very restless and most threads degenerate into a mud slinging , name calling children’s playground.

Thank goodness in between there’s fishing and cricket!

PS: that last comment is sure to bring out some dislikes!!!

Heard this morning that Jamil Hoppa has a meeting at NRL HQ later this morning with his management team. Maybe finally a decision on his career moving forward.

Where did you hear this? If he is available next year, I reckon he makes the top 17.

Zorbs said they have signed basically the whole U20s squad who will play in the NYC as they were only 17 or 18 including Fred Titmus, the others will play between blacktown and NRL squad

And about time Suplead. I had almost given up on Jamil playing first grade again. Nasty business indeed but it happened almost four years ago, and he completed his sentence about 18 months ago. The kid (well he's not such a kid now aged about 24) has talent worthy of first grade. Seems a bit of a Buhrer type of player. Would be a great back up for firsts and maybe on the bench. Hope he's available and sticks around. Might also encourage his younger brother Albert to continue with the Sea Eagles

Dont mind a bit of cricket, though as far as fishing is concerned, I gave up on that pursuit after a mate took me on his fishing boat on Botany Bay. he wouldnt stick in the one location more than ten minutes if he didnt catch something. Did a great tour of the Bay, saw the sights, enjoyed the sea air...but caught nuffin. No more I said.

As for cricket, I dont mind longer form matches but cant handle the hit and giggle ODIs and T20s. Sheffield Shield has something to offer as well as a good test to doze away an afternoon with a few cold ones. But none of this baseball like 20/50 over slapdash. 100 overs an innings...no less.

He's waiting on an upgrade of $150K a season. My personal opinion is that he will use us to get more and stay there. I didn't think we had a spare $650K in the shed, plus the extortion the Dogs would charge us to let him go, similar to Penrith and Moylan.

But yeah I'd welcome Will back. Especially with Dylan Walker breaking a leg so late, a little something different and experienced out wide, probably is an idea.

Will Hoppa, I don't know. He just isn't half the player that left this great club. But what I will say. Is that coming home and wearing that Maroon and White. It's the only place/ club I can see Hoppa really returning to his former glory.

It's a yes from me, only if he's playing Sundays.

He'll play Sundays and he'd be a great addition, can play wing centre and full-back at a very high standard. He had a couple of exceptional games this year at the Dogs. Has slipped below SOO standard, which was his standard a few years ago, but not by much. Strong, fantastic under the high ball, and will bash Adam Blair. Sign him up.

It's Manly - nothing else to say. Different rules for different clubs. Heaven forbid we can't have the game stagnate in QLD or VIC or Eastern Suburbs. We can't have those team EVER fail......

I'd welcome William back in a heartbeat. It's amazing what coming home does to a person.

Sure, he left for the money but, he was supporting his family financially and that's a cultural thing that unless your are an islander or Asian, you may find hard to comprehend.

If Will comes back, he goes to Centre and Kelly to wing and we'll have one of the most dangerous backlines in the premiership plus ... I'd tip Kelly to be the highest try scorer for the season as Will has a wonderful offload and if it happens, Kelly will be the goal kicker.

Wishful thinking maybe, but I'd like to see him back and I'd like all the Hoppa's to stay. We could end up with 4 Hoppas and 3 Trbojevic's in the team. How good would that be?
