New signings to be announced #nextweek

Have we signed anyone yet?

Trent? Bayley? Joel? Anyone?

I went out and collected some signatures..............

I reckon this lot can run good...............even premiership winners............

I have no recollection at all of David Adams. Can anyone enlighten me? The rest are virtually household names.

I don't remember him either, but Rugby League Project shows David Adams played some first grade for Manly 1977-1979. Number of games is unknown. It also shows he played 2 games for Balmain in 1980 where he played at half back, so I assume he was a fill in (Reserve Grade) half for Manly. Interestingly his father is shown as Don Adams (not the Maxwell Smart one I assume) who played for NSW and Australia in the mid 50s. Must have been selected from "bush football" as he has no club listed.

I can" t recall David Adams , he must have played mainly lower grades , i recall a John Adams who used to play centre for the Bears about the same time . Don " Bandy " Adams was an international i think , in a previous decade , he probably had some family connection . I recall Col Parkes playing quite a few first grade games for Manly and mainly as a prop until Igor Randell was moved there to stiffen up the pack in the run up to the 76 finals . Parkes was a good honest toiler though and Dempsey Joy the Union convert played his share of first grade games from memory .

According to a 1995 addition of The Encyclopedia of Rugby League Players.....

Adams, David (Manly 1977 & 1979) 3 games (0pts). (Balmain 1980) 2 games (1 repl) - 1t (3pts). Son of Australian test winger of the 1950s, Maitland's Don "Bandy" Adams.

Don Adams played 5 tests and scored 5 tries, all in 1956. He played in all 3 mid-season tests against NZ, scoring 2 tries on debut in Sydney and another 3 in the third test also at the SCG (Australia won the series 3-0). He was then selected for the 1956-57 Kangaroo Tour where he played in the first test loss (10-21) against Great Britain in Wigan before being dropped (along with fellow winger Ian Moir) for the rest of The Ashes series. He then played his 5th and last test in the 3 game series against France, a 10-6 win in the second test at the Stade Municipal in Bordeaux.

Edit: Don Adams also played 7 games for NSW in 1955 and 1956, scoring 9 tries as well as scoring 2 tries in 3 games for Country Firsts during the same period.

hoppa would be a better option especially in defense and can cover fb well and winger. Kelly cost us a few games but in all probably had a better year than hoppa though the dogs are terrible and with the likes of mybe liccah and frawley lol its not hard to see why. I'm starting to warm to this hoppa return but it has to be a fair price he's only worth around 400k maybe less. Kelly could improve he had a decent year he had some really bad moments and so really good ones. If we get Thompson I think Kellys defense will improve
Hopoate just re signed with the dogs until the end of 20 , so im guessing we can take him out of the equation.

Have no info. but would not be surprised if the Dogs outside back being talked about is Chase Stanley.Injury prone but a solid centre...not much more than that though...
