New signings to be announced #nextweek

I like the big signings that come out of the blue, without the drawn out, 6-week will-he-or-won't-he speculation. Pretty sure Taupau arrived like that, maybe Walker too?
Give us one big name no-one was expecting and we'd all be tickled pink!

Sharks and Panthers set for Maloney, Moylan NRL swap deal
DEAN RITCHIE, The Daily Telegraph

CRONULLA and Kangaroos half James Maloney and unsettled Penrith skipper Matt Moylan are on the verge of a shock $6 million player swap for next season.

The moves will have a massive impact on the player transfer market with Gold Coast Titans star Jarryd Hayne seeking a return to Parramatta, Mitchell Pearce ready to quit the Sydney Roosters following Cooper Cronk’s signing and Manly five-eighth Blake Green still looking to take up a three-year deal with the New Zealand Warriors.

There are still several contract and salary cap issues to be resolved before the Moylan and Maloney deals can be finalised but insiders hope an announcement can be made as early as Monday.

The Daily Telegraph understands Moylan could link with the Sharks on a four-year, $3.6 million deal, while Maloney would make Penrith his sixth NRL club in a three-year, $2.5 million move.

On Friday night, Maloney, 31, will play halfback for Australia in their World Cup match against France at Canberra Stadium.

But he looks like making the foot of the Blue Mountains home once the tournament ends as Penrith look to secure something in return for the loss of local junior Moylan.

The 26-year-old, who is contracted until the end of 2020, has been unhappy at the Panthers for the past six months after struggling to get along with coach Anthony Griffin.

Penrith officials have denied a rift exists between player and coach but Moylan was stood down from the Panthers’ finals campaign to deal with personal issues amid talk he was unhappy.

It’s believed he wants to play in the halves next season at Cronulla.

Penrith were believed to be asking for a transfer fee of around $250,000 for rival clubs to sign Moylan, but they could now waive that if they were to sign Maloney.

The NSW State of Origin five-eighth is seeking a pay increase from his existing Sharks deal, which has another year to run.

A key factor in Moylan’s decision would be to play alongside Cronulla star Andrew Fifita. Moylan and Fifita have been close mates since their childhood in Sydney’s west.

**** me it’s like Dominoes isn’t it?

Well looks like Moylan and Baloney doing swapsies, certainly counts us out for those two!

Lachlan is looking the goods now!

It also rules the Sharks out for Pearce though as well. If he leaves, he’ll be heading our way I would imagine.

No he’ll go to the Knights!!

Manly get the clown suit for not snagging anyone!!

But I might be wrong , who knows in the current **** fight!

A couple of things

1. If any new posters were unsure what a YART was check this thread
2. It might be a touch out there but it also depends on when the club thinks our premiership window is i.e. they might view the youngsters coming through the club / players off contract in 2018 and beyond and decide that next year is somewhat of a rebuilding year (let the kids get experience playing for blacktown etc) rather than a concerted roosters style push for the title
3. Who here really knew that much about Marty or Walker before they came on board....so who knows what is potentially going on

Bit of a shame about Moylan though...he was so close to being ours at one point. Why the **** is Cronulla a recruitment powerhouse all of the sudden? And to think they won a premiership in 2016 and instead of losing players, they have endless cap space to do as they please.

What is so appealing about that swamp over there?
If they choose cronulla of their own free choice then we wouldn’t want them anyway.

Anyone see on a fb site that Pearce to Manly and Green off to NZ . Just on apparently but i cant find the bastard.
