I'm worried about the lack of work rate in the NSW backs. Tom looks for a hitup but the rest are cowards. This could be trouble for the NSW pack

Agreed. Tedesco, Mitchell and Roberts are known for not getting involved often enough. Usually brilliant when they do get involved, but its few and far between at times.

Hahaha!! No Smith, no Cronk, Slater on his last legs. The blues supporters are very excited...

And you know that if Qld does lose, that is going to be the exact excuse they'll use. That it took all the Qld stars to retire for NSW to win.

If Freddie is as free-spirited as he appears then he should encourage an attacking mindset. NSW has the pace to blitz Queensland, and his game plan should be to throw the ball around and take risks.
NSW should avoid the traditional 'arm wrestle' and give as much ball as possible to our backs. I've never believed a speedy back should be expected to do the grunt work. Their advantage is pace, footwork and skill - not as battering rams. It's like asking a thoroughbred to pull a dray. But when I see the trend to having bulky centres and wingers then I know coaches are risk-averse.
The greatest winger over the past 50 years , Ken Irvine, wouldn't get a game these days because coaches don't reward skill.

Don’t listen to all that Queensland injuries bull****, they are masters at the game.

Yes Slater is out, but bet the rest play ......injury free!

This is how they are combating the “ oh poor little us we are massive underdogs”.

I’ve had to get the vomit bucket out when listening to the nightly news up here for the last 2-3 days!!

I like living in QLD, love the weather but for the Origin period it’s absolute ****!! ( and not the weather).

In Australia’s no.1 second line city, Melbourne,* for SOO1. The local Nein news have a story on the junior game being played tonight and confused our very own Narraweena with Narre Warren, a suburb of the Queen City of the South. Despite the very attractive lady coaching the Narraweena side sporting a shirt with ‘Narraweena’ emblazoned on it.

Still a long way to go for these cross-country code types on the RL recognition front.

*Just ahead of that other city on the make, Brisbane, as pretender to Sydney’s crown as Numero Uno.

While keen to see NSW win, the real passion isn't quite there this year for me as in previous years. I am going to miss the pleasure of defeating Smith, Cronk, Thurston, Boyd, Thaiday, Slater and Scott. Still, at least one NSW born captain will taste defeat tonight.
