Buhrer is more injury prone yes, but they add very different assets to their teams:

Buhrer is more a ball player. He can also play centre, 5/8, lock, hooker and will transition the ball out wide better.

Cordner is a better defender and harder runner, but doesnt add Buhrers diversity.

I don't think you could or should compare the two. Completely different players.

With Glenn Stewart gone and what he added to our team when healthy, im glad we have Buhrer. These two should probably be more comparable.

He most importantly wins Far more collisions in attack & defence....

Two very different types of players. Cordner is a big hard running edge forward whereas Buhrer is a dangerous player in close particularly when the bigger forwards get tired. Both very handy players but play different roles. Would be handy to have both.

Just because two players might be a different style, you can still objectify which player is going to have a bigger impact on a clubs chances of winning a premiership...the answer is hands down Boyd Cordner and I don't even feel the need to justify my opinion, because it's fact.

I'm sure Cordner is "better", but with the pigs we have is it better to add a another Myles type 2nd rower for 5-600 K or keep a 300k utility backrower and go after a pig with venom (Klemmer)?

Either way, I guess its all rather irrelevant as Klemmer ****s on Cordner for value, potential, and the actual ability to turn a game. Cordner does not turn games, he simply plays them out in respectable fashion with respectable numbers. That's a lot of respect for 5-600k for a guy that's lost more origins than he has won.

I'll Stick to JB, and hope we sign Klemmer.

The only feasible arguement that could possibly be made regarding having Buhrer over Cornder would come down to $ value. If a club had good backrow stocks and not a lot of cap space, you could be forgiven for passing on Cordner at the expense of Buhrer. But all things equal, Cordner is a better backrower and that's just the way it is. I am a huge fan of Jamie and I hope we keep him, but selling this idea that Buhrer is a better player is just not going wash with me.

Honestly though, if we sign him he'd be running off speedy and nimble guys like DCE, Parcell, Walker or Snake/Turbo who will all have the defence on the back foot. So it's better to value him based on what he can do with a good supporting cast rather than an iffy one.

Truly astounding if people believe Buhrer offers more than Cordner. As I often say here, if these same posters were in charge of the cheque book, would they feel the same way?

There is no way in a million years Buhrer is better than Cordner. If they were both on the open market it would be a no contest...
