Cody Walker in doubt with a shoulder injury.
Unlikely be training this week.
South Sydney five-eighth Cody Walker is racing the clock for Saturday’s clash against the Sea Eagles due to a shoulder injury.

“Cody got caught in an awkward tackle and jarred his shoulder. He played on, had some pain medication throughout the game, finished the game but was quite sore this morning (Monday),” said Jarrod Wade, South Sydney’s head of high performance.

Inglis back in may not be all bad news, though he's undoubtedly one of the modern greats. I heard some pundit on the radio recently (can't remember who it was) really slamming his form, and implying he didn't really want to be out there. Seems GI has had some issues of late and is nowhere near NRL fitness.
On the other hand - Cody Walker is a big danger. If he's missing our stocks rise dramatically. If he plays we'd better give him a thorough 'fitness test'.

Greg Inglis will not take the field for South Sydney if he can’t do it without the aid of painkillers.

So says an NRL.com report that claims coach Wayne Bennett has told his star player if he can't get on the field without the help of painkilling injections, Inglis will not take the field at all.

The South Sydney skipper has however been named to make his return to the side this weekend when the Rabbitohs play Manly.

Inglis has been named to start in the centres for the match and has been battling knee and shoulder issues.

Inglis has been dogged by injury in recent years and regularly required injections to get through matches last season and it was revealed that Bennett did not know that Inglis was given a needle in the round two game against the Dragons.

There was no sign of Greg Inglis during an opposed training session at Redfern this morning.

Inglis was named to start but youngster Jacob Gagan trained in his spot at left centre with Campbell Graham out on the wing.

Dane Gagai and Corey Allen trained on the right edge.

Halves pairing Adam Reynolds and Cody Walker are both under an injury cloud heading into Saturday night’s game against Manly.

However Reynolds, who is battling an ankle complaint, ran freely during the session. However, Walker, who picked up a shoulder injury against the Titans, trainer with a pink rehab bib to protect him from any heavy contact during the session.

Reynolds, Gagai and Adam Douehi all practised their goal kicking following the session.

Dear Lord, Please let Reynolds and Walker both be injured for this weeks game against the mighty Manly Sea Eagles. Amen.

Has anyone had any word on where Albert Hopoate is at? Surely he is inline for a debut or is the knee still no good?

It's been mentioned a few (hundred?) times: He is back for SG Ball this week.
(I believe he is also waiting on his chosen deity to prove his/her/its existence, so we could be waiting a while - please disregard this comment if it makes no sense ;) )

Classic Wayne Bennett gamesmanship - Inglis may not play if he has to rely on painkillers to take the field, so if he does play we're supposed to think he's so fragile that he's a slight knock away from having to leave the field injured.

Meanwhile both Souths halves are also under injury clouds & may or may not play.

Gee Wayne, sounds like you're going to be running out a reserve grade squad this week, we should win easily.. right?
