Afl has always been handbags at 10 paces and rerely do you see punches thrown. Which leads all this off-the ball pushing and shoving and shirt lifting or fronting whatever they call it.
It really is pest play that would **** me no end to play. The big news story today is Andrew Gaff who pinched the player who was pushing him 100m off the ball.

I see people are saying he should face criminal charges which i dont understand because if somebody keeps striking you you can strike back.
Imagine if this behaviour of pest play happened in cricket or any other sport let alone NRL.

Well im in qld and if someone keeps striking you you knock them the f out.
(1) When a person is unlawfully assaulted, and has not provoked the assault, it is lawful for the person to use such force to the assailant as is reasonably necessary to make effectual defence against the assault, if the force used is not intended, and is not such as is likely, to cause death or grievous bodily harm.

And i never meant to knock anyone out, just to stop their attack.....

Usually when you throw the punch and it lands it does some damage ,ask Walker about that
Sometimes in the heat of the moment in a game when there is plenty I niggle some players lash out

He will get a suspension and a fine and might think again before lashing out again lesson learnt

I've only seen the footage briefly but it looked like the victim was walking away from the attacker when the punch was thrown.
A lot of people seem to struggle with the concept of retaliation as opposed to self defence.
If you take it to court you may find out they are different - and the difference may mean you have no defence to an assault charge even if the other person was the instigator.

**** afl players are soft, they always have sneaky coward things like this. He doesn't even know how to punch right! What was that little straight armed hit. In NRL if you get punched it only ever happens in a mutual fight, in afl they just hit and run the skinny pricks. I know that in 2018 people don't tolerate language like this for some Politically Correct reason, but afl players really are [not the toughest], that's legitimately how 90% of them would act. Quick coward punch and run from the consequence

Gallen goes third man into a tackle with a swinging arm, then hits Myles twice while Myles has his arms by his sides (add an uppercut while Myles tries to grab him).

And a lot of people think this was fantastic and that Gallen is some hard man posterboy instead of a raging puss/coward. Naturally he went back to beating up overweight truck drivers under the protection of a ref in "professional boxing".

Good example, but the player knows that by doing so in the nrl he's putting himself at risk with other willing people around him. eg. Walker. In afl they do these king hits (or do something cowardly or grubby) and run away, then everyone else just pf the opposition have these little tantrums as opposed to inflicting consequence or stand uping for their teammate, all they'll ever do in retaliation is some weird jersey grab thingy where they look them in the eye and enter a tango together. I will give you the benefit of the doubt for having a poor argument and suggest what you are really in favour of is self policing because you don't believe the judicial repercussions for cheap shots aren't high enough. Which is correct. Unless you do something truly horrific in the NRL it's what - 2 weeks?

But that's me putting words in your mouth. What you actually said above though was kind of stupid. Walker shouldn't have OK'ed Scott's hit. It was not OK. Any fighting in league is essentially cowardly because the game is rugby league - that's what they're there for. It is not a fight sport. If you stoop to hitting then you are telling the world you are a neanderthal that cannot control their anger/emotions and must lash out in a primitive way. It's basically the same as road rage. If you want to fight, go do it in proper gym where you'll get your ass kicked instead of playing tough guy with 12 guys there to bail you out.

I don't condone it, well except in Manly vs Storm games, but what i was saying is that the afl players are particularly cowardly about the way they approach stuff like fighting, and that they're a bunch of soft cocks. The literally hit and run, whereas in the nrl it's more (<-- underlined) consequential and mutual.

Say what? Ask Dylan Walker if he was hit in a "mutual fight".

The inaction of the NRL on Scott's coward punch, amd the fact the AFL will wipe this bloke for likely 8+ weeks, says a lot about the running of both competitions.

Ask parents which sport they will let their kids play when one sport gives you 2 weeks for king hitting a bloke and fracturing his eye socket, and the other gives a bloke (likely) months for a cheap shot punch.

Its not the 80's anymore I'm afraid, so "soft" players and protection are paramount these days.

NRL is a rudderless ship at the moment.

He will miss a lot of games for that. What did Curtis Scott get for breaking Walker's jaw? 2 weeks? Add this one to the list of why the AFL will win the war. Gaff didn't actually set out to maim his opponent, Curtis Scott did.

Nrl were shown to have higher net ratings so they're not doing as bad as expected at the moment. Agree its a rabble thanks to Greenturd.

Our players certainly have higher morality than afl players however, and though few examples can be tilted toward suggesting against this, they are still a better look for the game than cheap, grubby and cowardly moments seen in afl.
