3 each for Garrick and Aloiai. Struggling to pick a third, Tuipulotu made some great yards but awful effort on Hunt’s first try. Harper probably had some good stats but we went down his side the whole game and he never had the pace to beat Lomax.

But overall it was an insipid performance. Mind you, DESpicable picking a fullback to replace three forward defenders was stupid.

Some players really stood up tonight and took on the extra load, notably:

3) Aloiai - 163 metres, 39 tackles, 6 tackle breaks, played virtually 80 minutes and deservedly scored our only try
2) Garrick - ran 200 metres, 4 tackle breaks, withstood being bombarded and another great game at FB
1) Harper - ran 162 metres, made some crucial tackles and back to his best form

Special mention - Walker also deserved points for playing 80 minutes, some out of position and made 48 tackles.

3 Walker - gave it everything in a foreign position including 48 tackles according to nrl.com (with 92.3% efficiency)
2 Aloia - consitently been our best forward aside from when he's injured - durability is his weak point so far at Manly
1 Garrick

Honourable mentions to Harper and Koula. Also Burbo, 14 tackles in 17 minutes before getting hurt.

**** you DCE and Foz. Senior players with smoke up your @$$ for the last few weeks fell off the face of the earth tonight when needed most.

Thought Paseka made the most of his chance back in firsts, ran with intent and made plenty of post contact metres.

We were actually missing 4 key players as we really missed the spark of Dylan’s running game from the bench. Sure he gave pretty good service from dummy half, but that was pretty much it - very conservative.
