If you read it ... it's possible it was a comment for public consumption.
Public of course including Manly fans, plus anyone else who may be interested (possibly even someone in the Bronco camp?)
The message a coach gives to the team is not always couched in the same terms as the message put out publicly, which may be designed to achieve certain effects (including to influence officials for example).
Anyhow good ole Manly coach Seibold may be one of those simple old school types who just answers everything candidly off the top of his head, but I'm just pointing out this may or may not be so.

At the end of the day the "Siebold scavengers" (sounds good but don't know what we are trying to scavenge from Spoon) are Manly supporters. We are happy like you Rocco McChocko. Go Manly! Go Spoony! It’s been a funny comp this year, if we can finally find some consistency in the next 2 weeks against Newcastle & Titans we are knocking on the door of the top 4.

We would already be in the 4 if we had won a couple of those winnable games that we dropped.

It has been a very up and down comp for all sides so far this year, except for the Dogs - but their draw has been pretty soft.

We have had so many f*cking injuries that our 17 is all over the shop…

Yes we have had some bad games but it is not like we have an actual “Top 30” or even a “Top 25”… we get pretty bloody skinny after our top 20…

But no credit so far, even after a gutsy win tonight?
If you do give him any credit for Manly playing well tonight, how about taking a break from using the Spoon moniker? You can always bring it back when the team plays crap but tonight it just feels wrong.
