Seibold presser ..

Seibold and the entire medical staff should be made to front Mestrov in the morning to give a "Please explain?" on how someone who was a 90% chance of being re-injured was even passed fit to play ... let alone actually selected and played.

Somehow though I can't see it happening..... :swear: :swear: :swear: :swear: :swear: :swear: :swear: :swear: :swear:

I'm not under either of the Seibold camps here.

Firstly, I would prefer seibold had not considered him to play.

Secondly this talk of players now thinking Seibs will not look after them and play them anyway, I would think the player would have had a big say, and players would want to play if they think they can and know the '' odds''. So that is rubbish that coach forces a player to play, however agree with most the medical team and coach should have made the smarter decision, and also saved the player from themselves and ttheir itching to play mentatlity. If Ola didnt think he was ready to play, he wouldnt have..

Let's not overdramatize it.

NRL Physio guy said 50% earlier in the week. Everyone knows it's a gamble and that an operation is inevitable. Seibs indicated that Haumole was in on the decision.

These professional sportsmen put their bodies through hell. Part of the job

When your own medicos are saying there is a 90% chance of the injury re-occurring......

Did NRL Physio guy physically examine Haumole at all?? Was he in on the day-to-day rehab??

And even if Haumole was in on the decision to play, which he would have had to be being the player in question ... it was still a very VERY stupid decision to play him when your own medicos are saying that he'll more than likely get injured again.

I can understand Haumole's desire to get out there and play. But there is also a duty of care from the staff and it seems like in this case, that duty of care got tossed aside which has backfired big time.

Haha this thread is a bit weird, some of you think Seibold was told there was a 90% chance he'd dislocate his shoulder again today! As opposed to, some unknown time in the future.

Pretty obvious to me the advice was he might be able to play out the season, but to fix it properly would need an op and out for the season. Hence player and coaches decided to give it a go.

Same Injury has happened to Jarome Hughes, will you all be squawking about duty of care if he plays in the finals? Didn't Nathan Cleary have the same last year and came back and played strongly at the end of the season.

Hughes is in exactly same situation. There's every chance he'll do his again when he comes back in a month.

Your spot on. Was going to need an op anyway so was worth a punt.

Some interesting takes on here - sounds like some seem to think Seibold put a gun to Haumole's head....very doubtful. Likely a "business" decision from all involved.

For me it all comes down to what was the chance of making the whole shoulder worse on a longer term basis if he played again this year. As others have said he was going to have surgery anyway.

Wow what a clown this coach is, What a disgrace he was in the presser !!

some notes from seiduds press conference:

- said he was proud

- said there was no lack of fight lol

- said there was a 90% chance that HO would re dislocate his shoulder and he (seibs) was willing to take that …. WTF!!!

- said it was “always a calculated risk” in regards to HO…. WTF!!

- “we could be proud how we kept fighting hard”

What an absolute clown show this fraud of a coach is, It’s honestly disgusting that he is that delusional

🤡
