Team Lists

Are they of the baked variety?

Keeping the Sharks players away from our smell?
I just realised we don't have a Jack in the team so I guess we're stuffed.

Having said that, the forwards must have filled up on the baked beans at half time coz they looked gassed with 15 to go.

At least this week, there is no sign of Adam "Six More against Manly " Gee as one of the Match Officials.
So true Jethro, hopefully thats the last we'll see of Gee.

Going to be an absolute massacre. We've lost 7 of our last 10. We've lost 17 of 24 since the pride jersey. Sharks embarrassed last week. Guys like Siebold, Flanagan and the players have an apathy to losing and the result (****, some of their minds are 100% focused on the Dragons).

Worst part, there seems to be a different excuse week in, week out. I love the, "but we had a dig in that loss" excuse.

This team of ours have become unwatchable live, which just sucks. They just aren't entertaining. It's the same old bull**** game after game, and nothing ever changes.

Try hard for 10 minutes, face any adversity, go to water, capitulate. OR, Try hard for 10 minutes, keep trying (as hard as we can), and let some soft as butter tries in throughout.

Yawn-fest. It sickens me that my money is going towards Flanagan who is preparing for that crap-shoot team Dragons....is there any wonder our players have basically clocked off. No-one cares, top to bottom.

And despite these results, the CEO, owner and coach are so ****ing deluded with where we are at, it's embarrassing, and I mean EMBARRASSING. Officially coming out and saying our premiership window is open while we are getting Tigers results (7 losses in last 10). FMD.

Fancy getting rid of the one forward with any kind of leg speed in Bullemor? Sure, he hasn’t been great but geez he has been no worse than Woods
At first glance it looks odd for sure. a young guy with potential vs an old stager who is average at best.

Possibly a clue in statements recently by Seibold about seeking consistency, and about Paseka's re-signing and good form this year, both Seibold and Paseka mentioned his preparation was the key to his improved consistency. Maybe guys like Keppie and Bull have been skimping on their preparation, at least compared with what the coaches are wanting from them so they improve. Just a wild guess of course but there is obviously some reason for it.

As some were commenting in one of the threads, if Keppie went to Melbourne Bellamy would make him a star. How? Well he'd only go there if motivated to succeed, and if he was there Bellamy would kick him out quick smart if he wasn't totally dedicated to succeeding. Maybe Seibold is trying to lay down those standards?

We , or at least many , on ST like to think we are expert coaches / selectors/ salary cap experts / and analysts.

BUT in reality we are nufties , with **** all idea of what goes on behind the scenes or at training.

Nor do we have much input into the whys and why nots.

There’ll be a reason , or reasons why certain players aren’t picked ( or are picked ) and I’m sure they and the other players will know.

But we as Neville’s no nothing ( despite what some type ).

Hot tip Seibold, target Moylan down the Sharks right-edge.

Sharks have been hot and cold too, but they tend to put poor teams to the sword. Their last 5 starts (not including byes)
  • L 12-44
  • W 36-12
  • W 52-16
  • W 48-10
  • L 10-54
That is some seriously confusing results. And for context, those 3 wins were Tigers, Dogs and Dragons - hardly boasting rights. Sharks can't beat a top-4 side. They are Manly of 2021.

If you put pressure on the Sharks they can break - if you give them a start they go on with it. Problem is our Attack has been horrible, our Metres gained surprisingly deficient, and our handling in most of our recent games has let us down at key moments.

How do you finish a game with 86% completion, 57% possession - and yet still have a lower Metres Gained stat? Beggars belief (Roosters game, source - NRL). If it weren't for DCE's kicking, we would be losing significant ground most sets.

Is it because we are so hell-bent on completion rates (for all the good it does us....) that we have given up on spreading the ball wide and testing the edge defence? Or is our attacking form so sub-par that the only way we score on the opposition line is in that 5-min window Schuster actually plays a game - and catches a Brad special, the guy who runs one of only decent lines in the backline?

We have scored 36-pts in our last 4 games since the Dolphins slaughter, and surprise surprise, that was the last game we had Tom. Whilst our forwards haven't necessarily been dominated defensively in the middle, they haven't dominated oppositions either and bent the line in any meaningful way (with rare exceptions from Paseka or guac). The line-defence against the Cowboys was pretty good lets face it but theirs was simply better - but they were dealing with a more wooden attack and didn't need to work as hard.

Our attack, without Tom, is pedestrian and predictable. Who was our Attacking Coach again?? Oh right....Flanagan. Any coincidence we have averaged 9pts per game since he signed with the Dragons? Someone maybe not committed to the job?

That's our problem right now, and we won't make the 8 as a result.

I think they've dropped Moylan.
