Not sure about the exact extent of Stevies injury but apparently they are considering season ending surgery.

Realistically our season is pretty well shot in a final eight sense with this latest wave a injuries so maybe the best move would be to get the tough guy some surgery and a 9 month rest.I still think he has another good year left in him unlike Killer and Brett and wouldn't it be good to see a totally fit and injury free Stevie next year for one last crack.

Can t see any upside in this play 2 weeks miss 2 weeks stuff at the moment. No good for him and the team.

I've loved the work that skivvy has done for our club. Such an awesome inspiration. Playing with serious injuries and consistently playing at a high level.

His injuries now concern me. The fan in me wants him to continue the human in me wishes he would retire. He has a young family and they need him.

We are going through the tough times of losing players who were the bedrock of our success. Time for the new generation to step up.

Matai had surgery last year, would be better for him to retire and not risk damaging his neck any further
Yep. That is the other option. On again off again is the least useful for both him and the club. We needs some continuity if these injuries will ever allow it .

I love him, his hits, his attitude, his smile.
But he needs to do what's best for his body so he can be a mobile dad for his family after footy.
If Stevie and his family want to stay at my house while he considers his options, I make excellent hot chocolate.

Steve is a God and should remain in the club in some form or other. Now is the time to get our young guns in place for the next ten years (like Skivvi and Killer)

When they interviewed Trent Barrett before the game last week he said Steve was getting a second opinion on his neck and they would wait and see what he says. Maybe the specialist recommended this new surgery to save his career.

I agree, Stevie has to consider his well being. He has bled for the SEA EAGLES over the years, and always plays at 100% effort, even while injured.

He is the mantle piece of passion & pride, its time he thinks about his longer future.

He is the last real Sea Eagle with Killer , unlike others that think they are still 21 and are dishing out **** every week.

It is really dissapointing that we didn't allow him to take up the warriors offer last year as he could have set himself up for life and probably would have ended up doing a Watmough an retiring halfway through his contract
