One request I have is the language filter. I understand why you put it on as default but could you include an option to allow the naughty words for people that can handle them?

I must admit whilst I use the occasional **** and ****, I quite like that they are blanked out.

You only have to go on the Kennel to see the alternative!

Such a thing comes without freedom though.
How do I determine whether you can handle them? Do you opt in by giving your birthdate? Do you check a button that says I want to hear naughty words, then what stops someone checking thay then me getting an agry letter from someone’s parent.

It gets so complex, telling one apart from the other is hard and you get punished from search companies for not providing the right kind of restrictions.

The someone says hey you are being too pc, then someone else says you aren’t being pc enough.

There is no perfect system, I get a lot.... a lot of complaints and a lot gripes every small change has to be weighed against so many other things.

Personally swear words don’t bother me and i am comfortable with this site being an m15+ rating, hell I’d not care if my kids read this stuff. However people have opinions and they put them first and unfortunately the rest of us have to react to them

In other words without individually vetting every request it’s not as simple as saying “I’d like to read it all”

Just a suggestion @Dan ... but you could try Manly's Media Consultant for some advice.
Cuzzo?
Pretty sure it’s his shout next time I’m in Sydney?

He is a good guy, plenty of time for him and we already have a good dialog and repoire

Sorry, must have got the title wrong ... I was thinking of the Greek chap.

I’m really struggling with how my idea is being misconceived.

I need to be clear “a Facebook site” is not the idea.

The idea is in extending the current capabilities, without removing current capabilities
To enhance and personalise the experience for each user more.

Rather than take a hit and miss and random content, which you’ll still be able to do, you’ll have the ability to be presented with more targeted information that you have indicated you have a preference for.

So, say you really like 10 posts of what poster x has said, then on a page that you choose to go to, you will be presented with more content from poster X and related content around them, you can then easily communicate and contribute inline.
If you decide you don’t like their content as much or anymore you can reduce the exposure to that content.

People fear change but I can’t be more clear in saying what I’m proposing will not erase the current experience it will only add another avenue of production and consumption
I understand what you are saying,I voted yes if that is where you want to take the site.I know what you are wishing to implement,I am just saying that many are resistant to change. The membership numbers I was talking about are the club membership, not for this site by the way.I am happy to be a participant however it goes for the site.....I get the feeling that a lot of people are worried that the site will become less personal for them, but I get that it is not your intention for that to happen

**** **** ****

And

**** **** ****

No thanks happy with the way it is , 99% know exactly what I just said but little kids wouldn’t!
