Yes a lot of players missing but defensively today was a joke !! We don't look well trained at all no shape in attack and we never look dangerous with the ball ! Defensively the team looked lost and disinterested today ! I really wonder what Trent and the coaching staff did during preseason and what they do during the week cause I see no structure or set plays at all !

For almost 3 years our team has played like a bunch of individuals who have been thrown together for a game of park footy with some mates.

And Gus Gould....not once during the game was he questioning Barrett's coaching, just the players. That said a lot to me. It says that the only reason Barrett hasn't been confirmed yet as Penrith's 2019 coach is because Gould is too smart to throw a spanner in the works when his current team is fighting for a top 8 spot. As soon as Penrith's year is done, Hook will be gone and we'll finally be rid of Yeah Nah.

We really are in a horrible place right now, today of all days when our legends were in attendance and we dished up the most inept performance I have seen from a Manly team in years. Pathetic!! No effort, no heart and totally demotivated and torn apart by a tea that played about 70 percent of their ability. We need a new direction time to pack it in TB!!!

It was Barrett's decision to sign up for another couple of years as he could have bailed at the end of last year if he thought that he didn't have enough support staff

Firstly let me start by saying while i have never had a great interest or liking for Bellamy our roster would be fine in his hands.

The young guys would have been nurtured better, the team would have been fitter, we would be able to play to win even if we had to bend the rules... All in all Bellyache would not be in the same position with this roster after 3 years!!

and that is the killer point. we are 3 years into TB and co and going nowhere.

All this chat doesn't hide the fact that TB and co just cant coach.

As I have said, no one will come given the environment here, lack of staff, interference from above, salary cap penalties, Myles, Jono Wright still on the books thanks to a blow in blow out.

The club made a mistake and got rid of a wealth of experience and hired Barrett and he still out of his depth
I,m not criticing Barrett I do believe he is trying his guts out to get results he just hasn’t got the experience or the right back room staff around him

But if Barrett stays there needs to a complete overhaul off the back room staff
Or release Barrett and start all over again

There's a lot of sense in what you say. It seems Manly are trying slowly to rectify the situation with some improvements in management such as Gorman. But as you say they seem to be on a very tight budget. This raises the question as to why the Penn family seem so resistant in bringing in some big money groups to work in co-ordination with the Penn family. What are they scared of? I know they invested a lot into Manly, but they are now seemingly trying to run the club on a shoe string budget, and its not working. If they don't have the money, bring in a partner (but not Norths). They've dug their heels in against Greenberg's assaults, which is good, but when it comes to the team they seem disinterested.

I would make a plea to Peter Peters here. I don't like putting the boot into Peters because despite his flaws I think he cares for the club. So I say to you Peter, you need to have a talk with your in laws, the Penns, and stress what supporters have been seeing the past few years. A degeneration of the status of the club. No PR stuff on the back of the Manly Daily. Time to protect the club that I know you love.
