Smart administrators end deals swiftly and in diplomatic way

Mestrov and The Manly Captain Never appeared together in their press conference
Metrsov Undiplomatic Contract Negotiations were OBVIOUS for all to see
and worse off they escalated from inhouse to Live on Air TV

Our Legendry Godfather turned over lots of players in his time
But we never saw any of this amateur contract negotiations like we have from Mestrov
You can't defend the indefensible

Nor can you defend a guy who has made millions after he played ducks and drakes back in 2015. No one is bigger than our club and this has been festering for nearly 2 months. The club has moved on now stop the BS DCE and move on and understand that no matter how brilliant a player you are or hold the records you hold, you will NEVER be bigger than this club!!

Total disrespect to our members, sponsors, fans and the playing group, rocks up to a NRL show, not wearing any club shirt and announces what he announced knowing the impact it would have on us. We did not win for the next 3 weeks after we beat the whingers immediately after, as usual all about DCE!!

As you saw post Weidlers exclusive, it blew up with numerous questions, many journos not buying DCE's story, the belief that a contract is already available to DCE from another club, and Weidler taking the club to task on how it played out, despite DCE selling unconvincingly that there were not any issues with him and the club.

It was obvious to see DCE had an issue, particularly when a club captain says he will play on, and will do so at any club ....except the current club he captains. This was his decision he says, and is announcing it on TV so manly can move on with recruiting in his place, rather than alongside his club to demonstrate ongoing solidarity for the remainder of the season and ongoing mutual respect and agreement this was the best move for DCE moving forward.

Instead, it opened a can of worms and put heat on manly, the club he captains.

Imagine any other club captain doing this, or Jack Wighton carrying on like this when he left Canberra. He did so with respect and appreciation for the club and what it had provided for him.

He has damaged his legacy to many supporters, maybe not all, but many. Like it or not, that is the way it is.

That’s fine! Player swap! Give us Whyte they can have DCE or pay $1.2M to get him before June 30. I’m sick of this $hit. It seems it’s all about Dollar Chasing Evans & not Manly. To be honest he can fu<k off tomorrow. I don’t wanna listen to his dribble any longer. I’m prepared to forego this season & start fresh next year. Get some good compensation from the Roosters & go with what we have for the rest of the year. Players who want to be here & play for the Sea Eagles not the fu<king Roosters. If DCE thinks he’s gonna win a Premiership in the Eastern Suburbs he’s in for a shock!

This, that’s what most of us that are annoyed by this feel.

NOT that he’s leaving , he’s entitled to all the $$$ he can finish with , but the way it was done.

Bozo give the Mestrov & Siebold hate a break. Both are invested in Manly, unlike Dollar Chaser Evans who is only interested in money & not Manly. This whole situation was brought around by DCE’s greed. He caused division within the club between himself & the Stewart Bros, Matai, Watmough etc. because of his greed! Remember it was the players around him that made him look good not his actual average talent. Remind me of what he has actually achieved as our club 7? Not saying he’s done zero but apart from 2011 GF, which was won not because of him & 2013 where he won MOM, he’s achieved nothing of significance during his time here not counting origin etc. Both Mestrov & Siebold have done more for the club in their tenure here than DCE has! Record memberships, sponsorships, sold out matches. With DCE gone we will be in a position to go to market with some financial freedom & make some astute signings which has already started with Jamal Fogarty & more to come. I believe we will not miss DCE at all.

The love runs deep for some here doesn't it. They are right when they say true love is blind. The guy who has been probably earned the most out of anyone in the NRL over the last 10 years still gets a hall pass to crap on the club and "look after himself" despite being massively in the red in terms of ROI at Manly.

Mestrov's only mistake was making him an offer of any kind, on the off chance he took it. He should have shown him the door after 8 years of failure. Can someone post that photo of DCE with 2011 premiership so we can be reminded about the last time he actually was value for money.

I'm pleased that it has ended like this because hopefully this prevents any temptation to keep him at the club in any sort of coaching or development role.
